Travel Writing Sponsorship

Each month World Nomads selects a nomadic writer to receive our travel insurance sponsorship. Naturally, we want to publish your experience in our online journals, so we can all live vicariously through your amazing adventures.

We're interested primarily in great writing and even more so if your travels are combined with a spicy flavour... either, something truly adventurous or remarkable, cultural exchange, charity work, making a documentary film, photographic essays or... ? We'll let you tell us. It doesn't matter if you haven't done this kind of thing before - everybody's got to make the leap from their little black notebook into the public domain sometime.

If your travel plans could do with this kind of help, read our 'Rules of Engagement' (see below) and fill in the form below with your best spiel. Remember, being able to prove you can string an engaging sentence together will put you ahead of the pack.

Sponsorship application form

General 'Rules of Engagement':

• World Nomads accepts sponsorship applications all year round - So, what are you waiting for? Drop us a mail.
• We will assess all applications and then confirm the sponsorship selection at least 30 days before the start of the month in writing. (i.e. Don't leave it to the last minute)

The Traveller's responsibilities:

• Note: We reserve the right to cancel or charge you for the Travel Insurance Policy if you do not reasonably keep your side of the bargainÖ See below:
• The main responsibility of a sponsored traveller is to keep an online travel journal with WN. Updates would be expected at least once a week (see journal examples on the right hand side of this page)
• Take a WN t-shirt &/or hat on the trip (we will provide this for you)
• The traveller must allow WN to use the travel journal writing/pictures and the user's screen-name for promotion on the site and marketing materials
• Any additional PR responsibilities as appropriate.

Purchasing the Travel Insurance:

• World Nomads cannot make any changes to the policy benefits to make it more suitable to the traveller - the product is supplied on an "as-is" basis.
• There is no specific limit to the value of the sponsorship . (It depends on what's appropriate to the traveller, their project, duration etc.)
• World Nomads and the sponsored traveller should liaise on the travel insurance costs and other PR commitments in writing before the transaction is finalised.
• The traveller must purchase the policy on their own credit card and accept the legal Terms & Conditions of the policy wording documents.
• World Nomads will refund the policy price onto the credit card, once purchase is made and the Policy Number is quoted.
