FAQ

We've listed the top three questions here. Still have more questions? Check our FAQ page.

  • Am I considered a professional travel photographer?

This is a learning opportunity for someone who is looking for an introduction into the travel photography industry, and wants to be mentored. The scholarship is not open to professional photographers of any kind.

For the purposes of this opportunity, we consider you to be a professional photographer if you have been published regularly in commercial blogs, newspapers, magazines or journals. We also consider you to be a professional photographer if you derive more than 25% of your income from photography of any kind — yes, wedding photographers, real-estate photographers, fashion photographers, this includes you.

If you are a finalist, you will be asked to outline your experience to date, and it will be the judging panel who decides who is most suitable based on your previous experience, photographic essay and written component.

Please consider the spirit of the program which is intended to help those with a burning desire to be a professional travel photographer and need some help getting started.

It'll be hard to apply on your mobile, but we can send you a reminder to apply on a desktop.
