Bhutan Tourism Corporation (BTC) was only privatized in 1991, hence Bhutan remains relatively oblivious to travelers. Everyone between young adults and the elderly can be sighted mingling at the Changlimithang Archery Ground in Thimphu, where regular matches and practice sessions take place. especially on weekends. Traditional as well as modern archery is a thriving interest in Bhutan. Government officials converse peacefully under the Bodhi Tree at the Punakha Dzong. Punakha was the ex-capital of Bhutan, and many ministries still have their headquarters in the Punakha Dzong, the largest one in the country. At sunset every evening, soldiers march and lower the Bhutanese flag in front of Trashichho Dzong, whilst the priests accompany for chanting & playing a tune. This Dzong is the seat of the government since 1952, and the residence of the Royal family of Bhutan. An old man continues his trek to the Paro Taktsang with a subtle smile as he takes his sweet time and watches younger tourists struggle to keep pace with him. The Taktsang is considered the holiest place in Bhutan, which locals visit regularly.
