Working to save endangered wildlife.
Wildlife Conservation Network (WCN) protects endangered wildlife by supporting conservationists who ensure wildlife and people coexist and thrive.
Their donation model allows 100% of any donation designated for a specific species to go directly to conservationists in the field, with zero overhead taken out, so donors can be certain their generosity is making the biggest impact possible for endangered wildlife. WCN has also received 4 stars and a 100% rating from Charity Navigator, America’s leading independent charity evaluator.
Through their Conservation Partner Network , WCN works with a select cohort of on-the-ground conservationists who operate on the frontlines and have the nimbleness and know-how to make conservation work. WCN offers these conservationists ongoing, in-depth, multi-year support, providing the financial resources, tools, and services they need to effectively protect wildlife. Through their Wildlife Funds , WCN offers flexible grants to projects from a wide range of organizations in order to protect a threatened species across its entire habitat.

Working towards the sustainable socioeconomic development of local communities.
Kabani - The Other Direction work and campaign against the negative impact of tourism on local communities and resources in Southern India. Named after the Kabani River in Kerala, which flows in the “other direction” to most of the rivers in the region, they promote the “other direction” in the present form of tourism.
In order to achieve this objective, Kabani carry out research on the side-effects of mass tourism and the ways to change it, advocacy and campaigns about these issues and both international and local networking to increase awareness and impact. Kabani also provides education activities to promote sustainability in the context of tourism and development. They foster community tourism initiatives finding their roots in local populations, and focus on socio-economic security and sustainability.

Working to save sea turtles from extinction through research and conservation.
It is the mission of Sea Turtle Conservancy to ensure the survival of sea turtles within the Caribbean, Atlantic, and Pacific through research, education, training, advocacy, and protection of the natural habitats upon which they depend.
Over the course of the last 65 years and counting, Sea Turtle Conservancy’s research programs have yielded much of what is now known about sea turtles and the threats they face. The organization is applying this knowledge to carry out the world’s most successful sea turtle protection and recovery programs.
World Nomads customers have been supporting the work of the Sea Turtle Conservancy since 2015. See how our support is making a positive impact in the short video below.
Working to treat avoidable blindness globally.
Inspired by Professor Fred Hollows, a humanitarian, eye surgeon and social activist, The Fred Hollows Foundation has a very clear goal: they're putting an end to avoidable blindness. In developing countries, 4 out of 5 people who are blind don’t need to be. Eye diseases like cataract, trachoma and diabetic retinopathy can lead to blindness when, in fact they're either treatable or preventable.
The Foundation supports life-changing surgeries and treatments to restore sight – often with a simple, 20 minute operation. They build local skills by training a range of people, from doctors, nurses to community health workers and invest in new technology and equipment.
Since The Foundation began 1992, they’ve restored sight to more than 2.5 million people in more than 25 countries around the world, including in Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

Working to improve access to safe water, hygiene & sanitation.
Over 650 million people in the world don’t have access to safe, clean water to drink, and over two billion don’t have sanitation.
Every person needs a sustainable supply of clean water, a decent toilet is something everyone should have access to, and good hygiene practices maximize the benefits of both clean water and decent toilets. When people have access to these three things they're much less likely to get ill and, particularly in the case of women, are able to live safely and with dignity.
WaterAid Australia is an international NGO dedicated exclusively to the provision of safe domestic water, sanitation and hygiene education to the world’s poorest people.
