Meet Jon Whitby

I became an Australian citizen in 2019, but was born and raised in Cheshire, England. I've lived in Cornwall and London in England, Tarifa in Spain, and now Sydney, Australia. I moved to Tarifa to work for a tech start-up and to drink sangria. I then started traveling around Australia before arriving in Sydney and working for World Nomads in 2013.
In my role, I ensure we're putting our traveler first when designing new features or experiences, and help the team achieve commercial and marketing goals. I also lead our Asia Pacific growth. I count myself lucky to work with a team of like-minded travelers, and together we're growing a brand we all love and care about.
I travel to have new experiences and meet new people – simple – and my most memorable adventure was in 2019 climbing Mt Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.
