An excess or deductible is the amount you must pay before your insurance takes over, like you would have with car or home insurance. But lucky you! There are no deductibles or excess payable on any of the benefits covered under the policy available to our Canadian World Nomads.
It’s important to note that in the event of baggage loss, World Nomads travel insurance is secondary to any coverage provided by your airline or other common carrier.
Also, you must be covered by your government health insurance plan (GHIP) for the entire duration of your trip. Otherwise, your aggregate limit for all emergency medical benefits will be capped at $40,000 CAD.
All coverage under the policy is last payor only. If, at the time of loss, you have insurance from another source, or if any other party is also responsible to pay for benefits under this policy, we will only pay eligible expenses in excess of those covered by other insurers or responsible parties.
This is only a summary of coverage and does not include the full terms and conditions of the policy. It is important you read and understand your policy as it contains benefits, conditions, exclusions and pre-existing condition exclusions. If you do not understand your coverage or if you have questions, just ask us.
