  • My bag did not make it to Liberia, I was in touch with the airline everyday, they were supposed to send the bag in 2 days but it took a week, I had to buy the minimum to survive as I didn't have anything on me.

  • I was playing ultimate frisbee in a park. I jumped for a catch and landed on my ankle badly. My ankle made a crack noise. I was able to limp off the field on my own. Later that night, I was in more pain and decided I would go to the hospital the following morning to see if there was anything seriously wrong. I went to hospital, and doctor was fairly confident there was no break but some pain in a specific spot on my ankle suggested it was worth x-raying anyway. The X-ray did not show a break. The Doctor diagnosed a sprained ankle, provided tube grip for support and crutches for walking.

  • I started to feel very nauseous and not normal...I walked back to my hostel and felt feverish. I then started vomiting constantly for more than 1 hour, as well as diarrhoea. I became very dehydrated and weak. After about two hours I was less conscious and decided to be taken to the international hospital. I threw up on arrival and was immediately given an IV, blood work and stool sample. I was diagnosed with severe dehydration, fever, and acute amoebic dysentery. I was given medication to help with abdominal pain, cramping and nausea, and was admitted overnight. I stayed until late afternoon when I was discharged and given oral medication.
