My first picture of a building undergoing construction was taken on the highway as I headed to the Maasai Mara national reserve. This shot displays my range as a photographer since the scene itself was hard to capture from inside the car.

The second picture is of a male lion, taken in Kenya’s breathtaking Maasai Mara National Reserve. Its sheer size and beauty was astounding - unlike any other animal I had ever seen. His remarkably lazy yet confident attitude took me aback as he really seemed to have no care in the world.

The third photo is of my guide in the reserve during sundown taken in the company of my friend and his family. As we were packing up, he stood with the sun setting behind him and with his traditional shuka on and I quickly realized this was a chance at a memorable and eye catching photo.

The fourth photo is of a lone male rhino grazing the plains of the Maasai Mara. I was beyond lucky to capture this shot since a rhino hadn’t been spotted until my last day in the reserve. You can notice the sheer size of the rhino if you look at the little bird perched on its bouldering back.

I thought I had seen the most beautiful parts of Kenya but the coast was among the most remarkable parts of Kenya. The particularly dramatic sky and slight decay in the walls of the building made for a unique and captivating photo.
