'Bike Club Members.' These two bikers had just arrived as I got to Ace Cafe. They had just finished taking off their gloves and helmets when I asked if they would stand for a portrait. They complained they hadn’t had their coffee yet.

'Retired Biker.' The juxtaposition about mobility really struck me here, evinced by his fiery flaming shirt and his walking stick.

'Back to the future'. All kinds of people arrive at ace, it's a place where style and class are irrelevant. Whether you've got a Maserati and pull in a seven figure salary or you're a biker covered in tattoos everyone meets there together to share their love of movement.

'England is Mine.' The waiter wouldn't stand for a portrait until I asked if he would at least let me take a picture of his tattoo, at which point he smiled and posed. This tattoo could be interpreted in a lot of ways. It struck me that it could be both political and/or a motivational motto.

'A Full English'. In the same way that the mode of transport that takes you to the cafe is irrelevant. So is what you eat there, the Cafe serves traditional British fare. Most people I observed were tucking into full English breakfasts.
