A young village girl with an innocent and big aspirations, taking a leap into the unkown and traveling to a foreign place where she knew no man or woman. A young girl with a bag full of clothes and a heart full of hope. She arrives at the crack of dawn and steps off the platform of the new city. Young Zanele has travelled all the way from her village, eShowe to the bustling city of Johannesburg, Gauteng. The young girl had come to this jungle of a city to pursue a career in Law as a student at the University of Johannesburg. Zanele was the only child, having lost her mother to the brutal hand of crime, she swore to become a lawyer so she could ensure justice was served. Whether it be murder or rape, she would ensure the victims always prevailed. She left her father behind in the villages, she didn't feel guilty one bit, her father had given in to alcohol and didn't even seem to notice her presence, he didn't even care about her. The first day of school had arrived, the campus full of bustling students all eager to get an education, she was a little lost butterfly who just spread her wings and was learning to fly into the vast open land. Zanele felt at peace amd at home when she was in the library, surrounded by rows and rows of books that ciuld broaden her imagination. Just 10 days after starting school, she met a very different girl named Thulisile, she was a vibrant city girl who knew her way around Jozi, Zanele thought a friend like that could come in handy in this big, foreign city. One Saturday night, the girls went out clubbing, a whole new experience for Zanele, the girls got lost in the blinding lights pf the club, alcohol flowed through their veins, men gawked at the girls, they were clad in skin tight dresses and their curves accentuated. One man in particular caught Zanele's eye, he was tall, dark and handsome, she was drawn to him like a moth drawn to a flame. He oozed sex and money, she'd never quite seen a man like him before. Zanele lived life on the edge with the handsome stranger, he bought her the most expensive things, fed her drugs, used her and enjoyed every moment of it. Zanele neglected her studies, she was caught up in the lights and the life in the fast line. Their little romance burned out like a candle on a rainy day, Handsome stranger left Zanele high and dry, he had his way with her, got the pregnant, gave her HIV and left her a coke and meth addict. Zanele saw her future fading away, the little big eyed girl was now the product of the big bad world.
