That day was my birthday when I had left to travel to Kinnaur Valley. I had heard of Kinnaur valley before but chosen my birth date especially for this journey. After almost 15 hours of bus travel, I reached my desired location Kalpa in Kinnaur. My plan before the trip began was to explore Kalpa and nearby areas like Reckong Peo. I had no idea about Chitkul and my plan also not allowing me to explore this side of Kinnaur. I had spent a memorable 2 days in Kalpa and the Homestay owner has insisted me to go Chitkul. I had decided that everyone here has been talking about Chitkul and let's make a plan to explore Chitkul in the morning and back to base in Kalpa towards sunset. This turned out to be my worst plan that fails. According to my plan left for Chitkul by taking the morning bus and reached Sangla in the afternoon which is around 20km away from Chitkul. Hence I was supposed to reach back to Kalpa till evening and in the afternoon I reached only till Sangla, Inquired from locals that what all can I do in Sangla, everybody again told me to go to Chitkul. In a second I made a decision that I have reached till Sangla then it would be a waste if I am not going to Chitkul which everybody pointing too. Saw the same bus which dropped me at Sangla, also it's the second last bus to Chitkul. Finally, I reached Chitkul - the last Indian Village with my camera accompanying me. All my belongings are in my homestay in Kalpa and I will be staying in Chitkul for a day now. A completely different experience. At first sight, Chitkul has my heart. The snow-covered all around and the roads have just been opened. I explored the small area of Chitkul and it turned out to be my best birthday gift which I had given myself till now. This is how Chitkul happened in a second to me.
