So let me start like this, as a Sri Lankan I have been traveling up and down from Colombo to Kandy and Kandy to Colombo for about one year now. Yet it’s today, that I’ll be writing an article about it, instead of ironic poems. It was 5.30 am and I took the public bus from piliyandala which goes through kottawa, malabe, kaduwela and straight to Kandy. First of all I would advise anyone to sit on the three seat side, near the window. It might not be so comforting traveling with two more people, yet it is the best place for the morning view.So here I am in such position, thinking how uncomfortable I’ll be, when seated in this three seat side, as I am more used to travel on the other side of the bus. So traveler let’s start our journey!!!! First as soon as you pass Kottawa, you will see two huge rocks together or apparently one large grey color rock. This is at around 5.59 am, and it is the scene you discover in a wink as the bus passes. This scene is incredibly indescribable. It’s the sky you need to watch, which is so lovely!!! The sky starts with a light color of grey, continuing darkly into a lovely eye catching indigo, which spreads its shades in to a yellow paradise with a luminous color of orange, which paints the picture further high. It is crazy that you can’t even take your eyes even for a moment, just to capture the picture. Cause, that much the scene is incomparably beautiful. Likewise as you are traveling in the bus, it is really hard to get such a long glimpse. Where there’s no time either, to figure out a way to click the button in your camera for a snap. Therefore the best place to get a glimpse of the whole sky, reaches you as soon as you pass the millennium city residences board. Where you enter in to a road with blank paddy field, along the road way, with no tress. So this is the place to admire and make up your mind to snap a click. For that, I guess you’ll have to go in your own vehicle or in a hired one, as you are not a foreigner visiting Sri Lanka!!. Cause you can’t snap here and there while traveling in the bus. Mainly because people might think your mad or out of the universe. So on that matter try to be careful. Therefore that is the sun rise, one would love to see in an early morning bus ride. One thing that is fascinating when traveling on the left side of the bus is that you never feel sleepy with all these cute wonders passing by you. Next you’ll be experiencing another sight of Mother Nature that competence’s with the lovely sun rise we saw during the morning schedule. This is near the Koronathota Raja Maha Vihare temple, which has a Buddha Statue on top of a rock. So when passing the land area which is about 10 or 5 minz time. We see lovely flickering sun lights which glimpse like diamonds through huge coconut and various other huge tress. While passing this scenery if you reach the Fonterra Factory, you’ll see the best performance of nature that you have ever seen in your life. In front of Fonterra you find a wire connecting two street light poles which balances crows, all in black, yet in different angels. This is something you can observe almost every day within this time period. I guess the crows must be waiting for the bus to set off to work as well!! Now the time must be around 6.30am. And if you are perhaps passing Yatihena – Malwana route you won’t be able to see that early scenery of the luminous color sky. Yet instead you’ll experience the bright sun which is unbearable to the naked eye. Which brings in the bright light straight in to your eyes with no excuses. While giving a break to all the natural scenery’s, you might wanted to have a rest and eat something. Contd... https://gayakodi.wordpress.com/2015/09/23/a-travelers-diary-no-1/
