Because of who I am to my world, I have been able to reach several communities in Ghana. Most especially the remote areas. Reaching these communities gives me the opportunity to educate them on the things they need to know about a Girl child and how the Male figure must leave in a community. Because of curiosity I decided to be in one of the Communities of the Volta Region of Ghana. As they say “curiosity kills the cat”, so I became convinced to know the unknown about this community. Truth is because I don’t know much about the community and how I was desperate to be there, I did a lot of research about the community. Because I knew these research will help me achieve my motive on that land. But the unfortunate thing was I wasn’t able to learn their language and the funny thing was I do enjoy their songs without understanding their lyrics, isn’t that surprising? On the 24th of December 2018 I decided fully to be in this community, Sokode Lokoe. I picked my baggage then joined a car to Madina from Kaneshie, when I got there because I haven’t been at that community before I asked of where their station was and I was told I should join the car going to Ho the capital city of the Volta Region of Ghana. Surprisedly, I saw one “book man”( those who help pedestrians board buses in Ghana) speaking “Ewe” their native language to my face with a lovely smile, then I said to myself what is all these? Then I told him in English that I am not from Volta Region so I don’t understand what he is saying. Not knowing he was mistaken someone to be me and all his talks was “ Oh Adwoa is been a while since we met, how is the family? We separated beautifully from him and I joined the bus. The bus passed through the Dodowa route of which I thought we will pass Accra central, then I said to myself where is my geography concept and smiled. In the bus almost 90% of the passengers were speaking “Ewe” and I seemed to be the odd one out, so I decided to read signpost and think of what I am going to do at the community. Whiles reading the signposts I saw 50 kilometers to Atimpoku and I was like wow. On the road I realized we have several names for communities then I heard someone among us said we will pass on the Adomi Bridge soon. So I started to smile and the reason for that smile, I can only be the best person to answer. The reason was that I have heard of that famous bridge and even seen books about this Adomi Bridge but I haven’t passed on it before. So I was wondering was this traveling an excursion in disguised? Just as we were about to get closer to the bridge, we saw several hawkers and some were shouting the names of things they sell “ Aboodo 2cedis and 5cedis with one man thousand fish 50 pesewas and 1 cedi “ so the driver stopped immediately for the passengers to purchase from the hawkers. And with my curiosity I bought Aboodo 2cedis and one man thousand fish 50 pesewas. When we were done the driver passed on the Adomi Bridge and I was not looking anywhere but the size of the river and the length of the bridge. So I said the people who constructed this bridge have truly done well. I was not able to control myself than to take a nap after eating the Aboodo and the one man thousand fish but I also knew it was because I was tired. When I realized myself I saw a signpost and on it was Asikuma. So I shouted and asked are we in Central Region? And they answered no, there is one here in Volta Region. Then gradually I kept on seeing Sokode and with the other name attached so I quickly informed the bus conductor that I will alight at Sokode Lokoe. When we got there I walked straight to the chief palace in order me to announce my presence and they accepted me and announced that I will be educating them on things they need to know about the Girl child and the Male figure. “I didn’t expect to find “the members of the community to know soo much about what I was about to educate them on . In fact I was overwhelmed. I was an epic experience for me .
