I am a travel addict. No question about it. I had the chance to travel more than 35 countries in the past years. Mostly, I travel alone, visit some beautiful places and live others dreams. But there was one country where I wasn't dare enough to travel to Egypt. Travel to Egypt was the dream of my Mother. She looked with charming eyes all the egyptian movies documentaries. I couldn't travel to Egypt withouth her. I couldn't live her lifelong dream. At one cloudy day in last October I was eating peanut butter sandwich and the jar was running out. This jar of peanut butter came from New York City. I bought it on last summer. So the jar was out and I sat next to my computer to figure it out: How can I get a new jar? I started to look after flying tickets to New York for fun. At this point a miracle happeened. My little brother came into the room and asked me what am I doing. I told him the story about the peanut butter and started to laught and helped me to find airplane tickets. I don't know how but we ended up in the following search: BUD-CAI We were searching for airplane tickets to Cairo. We knew we owes the 50th birthday travel to our Mother. We got excited about the Cairo trip and bought a ticket and decided to keep this trip in secret. I took the responsibility to plan this lifelong ticket. I searched for the destinations and I figured it out: if we are in this trip I don't want to stop at Giza. I wanted to visit all the significant sights and show it to my Mother and to my brothers. So I planned everything, I booked the hotels, make tourguide reservations, bought the transport tickets, I did everything. Finally the starting day arrived. My Mother knew she has to package clothes for hot weather. We flought to Istanbul first where we took the advantage of the Turkish Airlines: if you have to wait more than 8 hours at the airport for your connection flight you can apply for a free guided tour to visit Istanbul. After the tour we went back to the airport and we stood before the big departures board. We asked our Mother: Now it is the time, we can not hide the destination anymore. Please look up and choose one! There was only one egyiptian destination: Luxor. She picked up it and started to cry. After 52 years she finally could visit her favourite country. It was charming. We visited basicly everything. The temple of Luxor, Karnak, Hatsepsuth, the valley of the Kings, Medinet Habu. Around Luxor we saw everything. The next part of the tour we went up to Cairo and it's surroundings. In the first day we visited the Cairo Museum where we could meet the treasures of Tutankhamon. At the end of the day we sat in our car and we was on our way to our new hotel. On the way my Mother asked me to take a walk next to the River Nile. But I know we will be far from the river. Our hotel was next to the one of the most famoust building of Earth, next to the Pyramides of Giza. When we went up the roof of the hotel and we saw the fascinating view my mothers dreams come true. We sat on the restaurant and had dinner at the background of the pyramides. In the next days we visited 12 pyramides from outside, from inside. We took camel ride around the big pyramides. We did everything possible. After 9 long and emotionally days we had to go home. We left Egyp with memories, with funna stories. The lifelong dream come true. On our way back we stopped in Istanbul again and just to visit one other continent we cruised to the asian part of the city. It was one of the best trip in our life and we were happy to make this dream together.
