A leap into the unknown Brazil

I was born in Manaus, Brazil;which is a city right in the middle of the Amazon rainforest, but I moved out of there when I was little, so most of its natural beauty was ignored by me for a long time. This situation changed in December of 2016 when I came visit my family in Manaus and took this opportunity to try to discover more of the natural treasures that enchanted so many tourist of all nationalities. So I went in a boat trip on the amazon river. And it was unexpected. Most people don’t know, but the Amazon river is one of the largest and longest river in the world, so you would expect something really magnificent from it. And you wouldn’t be disappointed. Is hard to explain it’s true beauty, because there are few things in the world that would stand the comparison, and fewer things that are 100% made by Mother Nature. The diversity of specimens, the different shades of green, the scent of the forest, the blue reflection of the sky in the water of the river. These where the combination of things that made the experience so great! This trip also lead me to visit a community of people who live by the water in palafitas houses, which are houses built above wood sticks, that prevents these places from being flooded when the rain season begins, and the height of the river rises. I found it very interest, since I only ever knew about this kind of places in my geography classes, and never really had the chance to see it in person, and I’m glad I did it! Because I got to know a different way of living, which for me is the top reason why you should buy a ticket to an unknown place, pack a few things you don’t really need, and fly to a new adventure. After that my trip ended with the experience of swimming in the Amazon river alongside with the “botos” which are a specimen of dolphin that are exclusive of the region, and that was really fun! They have a very rubbery skin and I was not expecting that at all. In conclusion, my experience was very exalting and beautiful, and made me think that often we ignore the beauties that stand right besides us to focus on others, which may make us lose one of a kind experience like this one that I had.
