At the age 21 he decided to take me on adventure to Florida then Bahamas. I was 25 and have never gone so far out of Canada by car and was existed to see how this 30 hour car ride would turn out. We pack up are car in late December and started driving to Florida from Ottawa. Driving from the snowy roads of Ontario into the US, we watched the snow slowly disappear, it was magical! The long windy roads, beautiful mountains, tall buildings, and high bridges, brought us so much excitement and filled our hearts and minds with curiosity. How have we lived on this earth for over 20 years and didn't know this was possible, to see such beauty? At that point we had decided we want to see the world! Going through Vargina a and Georgia talking to the locals as we stop for snacks and gas brought giggles to our conversation for the long ride ahead. When we saw south of the border are eyes were filled with excitement to stop and see a palm tree and so much summer in December. After an hour or so pit stop of exploring, we jump back into the car with so much more excitement to see what Florida has to offer our eyes and hearts. A couple more nights in the car sleeping at truck stops setting up tents on the side of the road. Even spending the most fearfully night at a motel on the side of the highway where we thought the local drunks were going to attack us or maybe even steal our crappie little car. We were getting so anxious to finally see what we came to see. Finally after a long 4 days of him driving we made it to Florida!! Wow look at the beautiful palm trees look at the flowers! Oh and what is that in the bushes, climbing the trees, running so fast by us it's hard to tell? Oh! Ohh my! It's a lizard, a gecko!! I have never seen so many!! Our hearts and minds were filled with amazement wow if this is Florida what will Bahamas look like? Exploring Florida for a couple of days taking in the sights, we hope on a cruise ship to head for Bahamas!! Not only did we see so much beauty already we are now boarding our first cruise ship together. The staff the upper deck were amazing!! '' this is so neat, I never want this feeling to end!! '' After only one night at sea looking at the wide ocean, we started to dock the boat at Port Nassau Bahamas. They told us we had the just 8hrs to enjoy as much as we could. So we walk over to a rental store to rent a scooter. Once we hope on and realized very quickly that we were driving on the wrong side of the road! We found the most beautiful beach. The water was a beautiful aqua blue the waves caching into the shore line was breathtaking. As he set up the camera to take a video of us I turned and looked at the ocean and looked back at him.'' What is he doing? what is he holding? Why does he have a strange look on his face? a look I have never seen before? '' As I stepped toward him he stepped toward me the ocean wind blowing through my hair he gets down on one knee and asked me to travel the world with him every chance we get as his wife!!! I was shocked! I grabbed the ring bushed him away then held it in my hand! He looked at me with wonder in his eyes and asked me again '' will you marry me? ''...... Yes!! Yes!! I will marry you!! As of that moment I new I was taking a leap into the unknown and couldn't be more happier. To find someone to travel the world with and spend the rest of my life with!
