Recently Single from a longterm relationship she decided it was time to go and find herself. What better place than the warm, welcoming Mexico! Travelling Alone became a reality rather than a dream at the young age of 22! Arriving in Los Cabos at 8:30 pm she stepped of her plane into a new world. This was happening and it was scary, exciting, and overwhelming! Instantly the warm humid air caught in her throat feeling the moisture dance across her skin. Flights came in earlier than expected so her cab wasn't there yet! Eventually panick began to set in when she was the only one left at the airport terminal. Alone somewhere unknown and tired. The Night dancing with nothing but stars and highway. No cellphone service, no idea what to do! As the panick began to set in she wondered if this was a mistake, she heard someone yell towards her "Senorita!" A small but friendly Uber driver was there to her rescue! Instant relief started to set in as she wheeled her bag towards the car and sat down. As they set off into the night she observed her surroundings. The first thing she noticed was the lack of green! The roads were filled with sand. Cactus all shapes and sizes that danced around the Edges of them. It was beautiful and different from other areas in Mexico she had seen. Driving through the streets she saw small restaurants with full open face fronts, hotdog and churro carts. It was all so different from back home. As she got farther into the city of San José the more it became houses with locals. It was dark she was in an unknown place and alone, anxiety began to follow in with everything else mixed in between. Showing up at her Airbnb she walked in instantly welcomed by her host and his Dog. She found her zen area right away, in the backyard about the size of a small bedroom fenced with cement walls and broken beer bottles for security. She stepped out and was surround by the crisp desert air it was interesting to feel cold when it was so warm not to long ago. A few palm trees that grew tall surrounded by Cactus it had its own beauty. The stress levels were becoming better she decided it was time to go to bed. As she laid her head down she kept the mindstate of tomorrow being a new day, a fresh start. The sound of the tropical birds and warm air woke her up in a zen. The smell of the ocean breezing through the open window, how could she complain. Talking to her host he directed to a local cafe that was known for there food. She typed the address in google maps, 20 minute walk it wasn't too far. As her feet went along she started to take pictures of landmarks so she could find her way back. Huge agave plants, a cactus as tall as the powerlines, an orange abandoned house, and dog's that barked along the way. That's one thing she noticed was the amount of dogs here everyone seemed to have atleast one it was interesting to see! She walked up the stairs to this hidden cafe was greeted with coffee and two amazing cookies. The menu was Spanish, her first challenge as she could only read English. Eventually she decide to go with some Mexican hotcakes. While waiting for breakfast she observed her surroundings. It was an open patio and as far as she could she it was Sandy desert, mountains and of course cactus! It was such an amazing view to have and enjoy while sipping on mexican coffe, which is rich and chocolatey! Her food was placed and she couldn't get over how beautiful they presented it. Hot cakes with prints of animals on them, bright fruit sprinkled her plate. They were warm fluffy and had a touch of cinnamon. It was an amazing start to her first day. It became her everyday place to eat write her journal and relax. A family run business that made her feel at home. She had so much more adventure to come...
