It was 14 July 2019, me and my friends planned to visit a splendid place known as MeeranJani Top located at Nathyagali , District Abbottabad, Province Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. Early in the morning we were very excited and on the way Karakam Highway towards my destination which is from District Haripur to District Abbottabad with my friends Zeeshan Ahmad and Rimsha, Meranjani is a hiking trek and highest peak of Hamalia Mountain range at the elevation of 2,980 m approximately above sea level, Its woody area surrounded with pine, cedar, oak walnut and also oak and maple trees. Short History of District Abbottabad. District Abbottabad is beautiful and historic tourist place in Hazara Division of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province of Pakistan situated approximately 120 km from Capital City Islamabad, named after Major James Abbott in January 1853 during the British Raj after the annexation of Punjab. He also remained the first Deputy Commissioner of the Hazara district from 1849 until April 1853.Mostly tourists visit the area to enjoy snow fall in winters and the breezy cool weather in summers, that’s why Tourist from all over the country and out of the country visit Abbottabad, throughout the year this city is full of visitors. After one and half an hour we were at the front of our destination (Meranjani Top), Rimsha was little bit nervous because the trek was somewhat tough for beginners but her spirits were high as she said I can do it I knew it. I was also afraid because warning was clearly written on the board that Leopards are frequently found in the area so be careful and take precautionary measures. Moreover the area was like typical jungle and sounds of birds was only thing to be heard there. Another panic was mostly weather in these area is either cloudy or rainy so unfortunately that day was also cloudy. Any way we started our trekking slowly and gradually. On our path after 30 minutes we saw hikers coming down in group, some of them were happy and signs of victory were on their faces as they have made their day by completing their target. But some of them were also disappointed because they were unable to reach at the top. During my journey I saw many trekkers sitting aside of the trail losing their temper and talking of returning back to ground. At this moment I felt it’s just the spirit and courage game if you are consistent and committed with yourself then nothing is far otherwise you will lose. Another thing I observe here is your company should be full of spirit and courage than noting is impossible for you. Whenever I visit mountains greenery of the woods, tall pine trees and birds singing poems and songs give me inner peace and satisfaction, that’s why whenever I am sad or stressed due to work I go for hiking and feel it deep in to my soul and believe me when I came home after such activity I become fresh, happy. After the mountaineering of continuous two hours me and my company reached the top of the Peak and Marvelous view was welcoming us with opening arms, top was plane and at the height of 2,980 m we can even feel we are in between earth and sky. Clouds were on our heads, cool and sweet breeze was causing little shivering inside body, top of the mountain was bedded with green carpet of grass and white flowers were whispering with each other. I laid down on the gross and looked towards sky and felt every moment of the surrounding that blue sky behind clouds. Rimsha was very happy as it was her first hiking trip with us. After having lunch and making photographs we spent one hour on the top than decided to go back as weather was changing its mode as we could stuck there if raining starts. I have observed some points during my this visit which I would like to share with you, one is whenever you plan hiking somewhere choose fragile luggage which is easy to carry during journey, take plenty of water with you, must take a knife or something sharp to cut bushes causing trouble. First aid box is good thing keep it with you.
