I didn't expect to find Rwanda

A TRAVEL TO AN UNTOLD FAMOUS TOWN Brushing my teeth in the morning, I was preparing myself to call my elder sister together with uncle since earlier that morning we had an agreement to take a road to the west sides of Rwanda. My phone rang ‘’ Hello brother good morning, are you ready or we are going to wait for you for some time? ‘’. This was a first call from sister checking on me about whether I am ready or not. In a bright morning, wind blowing fresh and clean, the morning sunshine peeped from window pane and could be noticed in the living room. I put on my black and blue blended shirt and blue jeans alongside Black shoes of Nike brand, the road was waiting for my coming with open arms. Stepping outside the gate, my uncle said hello with a car horn twice. Indeed, this was a routine before even hugging him since when I was a kid. Suddenly, he said ‘’ I feel like there is a surprise today!’’, then I asked him right away, what surprise do you mean? , Then he said ‘’I meant only that I feel like today is going to bring a surprise to us’’. In fact, every time he meant to surprise me, he would say like this, and my heart could tremble with so much expectations and impatience like a mother waiting to see her new baby’s look during birth delivery. After a while, my elder sister was ready to get in a car and move, From Kigali city, we headed first to a garage that welcomes and bids goodbyes to those leaving or coming to Kigali. Christian, was a friend of mine as a usual fuel technician to that petrol station. We deposited thirty thousand Rwandan francs to get fuel and then bought some snacks in that petrol station minimarket then we left Kigali. Lowering glasses , I could breathe fresh air and at the same time enjoying a beautiful landscape of sugar cane plantation of Nyabarongo river which surrounds Kigali boundaries like belt through trousers . Near the first bridge of this river, Kamonyi district welcomed us with a huge sign post , within this district lay a historical mountain peak called ‘’Ijuru rya Kamonyi’’ Meaning Heaven of Kamonyi. At this peak, was a royal house before 19800s, because of its standing, from there, everyone can witness the beauty of this mountainous area. In a roundabout that divides South province and West province, Uncle turned left and we headed west side. Uncle began challenging me ‘’ Guess what surprise I told you?’’, I replied ‘’the surprise can be to head somewhere unknown!’’. He reminded me of a promise we had before that year, then a quick recall came in mind, then I recalled that I had a dream to visit Rwanda especially in the west sides. Kivu Lake surrounds some parts of Congo Nile crest which was west located yet visiting Kibuye small town was my dream visit which uncle heard me talking about. Here we go ‘’ Guess what place are we in?’’, this was a question that needed an answer from me. To be frank, I did not know this place. Kibuye small town welcomed me and a glimpse of different species of birds tweeting could be noticed. Different hotels had escalators which descended to the lake beach which ease swimming. Kibuye town hosts hotels which today are transforming lifestyle be in hosting conferences or for shelter purposes. Sunshine colors this Lake and turns it into blue beautiful waters which hence invite visitors from world corners. I swam alongside my sister, traditional dish is among specialty of this town plus their roasted fish cooking is one of kind that kept lingering in our minds. Since then, I emerged to discover their lifestyle that keeps this town busy and vibrant economically through tourism industry. Compared to my previous experience of my hometown Gisenyi which has a beach like cover bed, hosts different world adventurers that come to swim with their families. Returning back in Kigali, safe and clean roads accompanied us to my home again. I did not expect to find a place like this so stunning that I recommend everyone to visit.
