A leap into the unknown India

Travel! Travel is a word that represents different journey for each person. For some it’s a feeling of adventure, relaxation, for some it’s a journey of enlightenment. For me travel is a sense of euphoria, an unknown, a beauty waiting to be unearthed by me for myself. My day started by logging off from my usual night shift, but my mind knew there was an adventure to come. I was off for an amazing trek which I had been craving for from quite some time and needed a break. Me along with my friends left for the beginning point of the trek which was 160 kms. We were excited and happy but then weather started playing the spoil sport. It was raining heavily that the car was moving so slow. It didn't end there bad roads and google maps betraying us made things go from worse to worst. We started blaming our luck that we chose that particular day for the trek. We had a deadline to reach at the start point and were sure we wouldn’t be able to make it. As the journey progressed things changed. Leaving the city pollution, noise and traffic to the peaceful forest. This was a soothing change in the graph to what was happening with us. We could hear the birds chirp , water flowing everywhere. I wanted to capture every moment on the camera. The silence there was perfect for a yogi to meditate. At that moment I realized it is equally important to leave the negatives aside and focus on the positive because positivity helps us build character. We reached our trek start point and after a lot of pleading and convincing the forest authorities granted us permission to trek. As we trekked our experience was turning from good to better. We were off to a waterfall which was between 3 mountains. I had only seen photos until then, but wished to be there every time I saw it. There were people living in a small village near the forest. Most of them worked a guide and charged very little. We booked a guide who helped us trek to the waterfall. Most of them seemed happy with what they had not worrying about the luxuries, greed and competitiveness like people from cities. I found solace in that place. It felt like a part of me belonged there. Sometimes the most scenic places in life are the detours we don't take. The view was mesmerizing, the foggy weather making it perfect for the trek. We crossed many water crossings, streams and the flora was different. I saw so many different species of flowers and plants. There were trees which may be centuries old now. I saw different species of birds which I could never see in the city. We reached the waterfall after about 2 and half hours of trek. I took a dive in the water and sat there for quite some time leaving my gadgets and re-thinking my life decisions. This was the detox I needed. The view there was actually better. It was like the photos can never do the justice to the view there. Soon it was time to leave but I didn’t feel like. I left a part of me there. The experience was enriching and one thing I knew was I was this wasn’t my last, this was just the beginning of many more to come. At the end of the the trip I hadn’t slept for over 30 hours but not one part of my body was tired. Just thinking about the experience was giving me adrenaline. This trip has made a different impact in my life. I would just that sometimes it’s ok to be lost. It’s absolutely fine not to take the usual path, you are responsible for your life and you should be living it the way you want to live. I would end this here by quoting Pascal Mercier , “we leave something of ourselves behind, only leave a place, but we stay there even though we go away.”
