As someone who is afraid of water, this trip was REALLY out of my comfort zone but how could i not jump at the opportunity to go rowing on the Orange River. If someone loves the outdoors and exercise this experience is definitely for them. In total i spent 5 days in Namibia. 3 of days rowing, camping under millions of stars, baboons barking in the night, seeing fish jump right next to your canoe and capsizing after almost every rapid except the super big one. This was just a tiny amount of beauty that i experienced on my first ever trip. This trip was a lot of firsts for me: it was the first time that i had ever slept out under the stars on nothing but a yoga mat (i didn't even have a pillow), it was the first time that i had ever seen a firefly and it was the first time that i had ever swum across a river without having a panic attack in the water😂. It was truely an amazing trip and all the food that we ate was cooked on a braai and my oh my how delicious it all was. Not only did i have fun jumping off of rocks and diving into the water but it was such a beautiful time of getting to know the people around me as we would stay up late at night having deep conversations about the world around us. I have created so many memories on this trip that i am forever grateful for and i know that it may not seem glamorous as you don't have a toilet for three day but i am telling you right now that it is worth it. It is such an amazing adventure. If nature is in your soul then the Orange River is definitely for you!
