It was a dreary day as Elizabeth had just had to bury her second brother. Joshua had passed away when him and two of his good friends were in a car wreak that Joshua had been driving. Elizabeth had been to many funerals but never for someone so close to her. Boone was themselves and Elizabeth's grandmother decided that Elizabeth, her grandmother, and Elizabeth's father needed a change of scenery and to clear their minds. Elizabeth's grandmother whose name is Carolyn booked a cruise to Mexico. They would stop in Cancun, Costa Maya, Costa Rica. At first Elizabeth was relectunt because her baby brother, her best friend, basically her son(because she raised him after their mother left when Elizabeth was two years old,) had just passed and she couldn't imagine of having any fun. She agreed thinking she would just stay on the boat and have some relaxing sleep. As they boarded the huge ship all Elizabeth could think of was what Joshua would say if he has been standing there with her. Her second though was were all going to die like the Titanic. She was sad and depressed and everyone else was too. Her father and grandmother at least we're smiling and making the best of the trip. This was the first cruise that Elizabeth had ever been on and all she wanted was her bubba there with her. After finding their room there were animals made out if the towels and this made Elizabeth smile. They settled in and then they were called to the top deck to learn how to put life jackets on properly and learned were to go in case they started sinking. At that point everything inside Elizabeth was screaming "get off this is not good, your going to die like all those people on the Titanic." But Elizabeth's grandmother reassured her that if it was God's plan for her to die it didn't matter where she was he was going to take her. She also told her she would see bubba again, (bubba is what Elizabeth called her brother Joshua.) As the boat took off on its voyage she went back up to the top deck and the sun was setting on the water. It was the most beautifulness she had ever seen. The sky was vivid and crisp all the colors blended together and put in their proper place. She though God sure knew what he was doing when he made Earth. It was God's coloring book. The way the sun reflected on the water was breathtaking. Their first stop was Cancun Elizabeth and her grandmother got off but her father who was battling liver failure stayed on the boat. The water was so clear that you could practicly see straight thru to the ocean floor. The fish were swimming around in schools and were so vibrantly full of color and life. Every color that you could imagine and watching them eased Elizabeth's mind. They had all these boutiques and little shops set up where you could buy anything your heart desired. They had handmade necklaces, to hats, to purse's, to Shaw's. They had ashtrays and even pharmacy signs posted where u could get your medicine right there on the street. It was unlike anything that Elizabeth had ever seen before. Elizabeth and her grandmother had to hurry and get back before the others because Carolyn had a surprise for Elizabeth. When they got back Elizabeth was told to put her swimsuit on and take her jewlerty off. She didn't ask questions because her grandmother and father were smiling from ear to ear and do excited. She did as she was told and made it back to where they had gotten off the boat but went to the other side. It was dolphins. Elizabeth collected dolphins and thought of them as mythical creatures. So elegant and graceful. She had never seen one in person and she was so excited. The instructor told them to get in the water and Elizabeth thought they were just going to swim up to them she didn't know she was going to get to actually touch them and ride on one of them. This was the best that Elizabeth had felt since before the passing of her brother. The instructor showed them the hand signals too use and the dolphin swam up underneath her and Elizabeth was holding the dolphins fins and riding the dolphins belly. Elizabeth loved every minute of the 5 second ride but at that moment it felt like a lifetime the only bad part was were the dolphins swimming the sea water keep full stream going up Elizabeth's nose and in her mouth. The dolphin even kissed her on the cheek. When it was over Elizabeth wished it would have lasted a lifetime but she found out they took video and pictures so she would always remember it. This was the best day of Elizabeth's life. She wanted to stay in that moment for ever but felt like she was wronging her brother bc she was enjoying something after he was taken from this Earth. They enjoyed the rest of the cruise as best as they could, lifting one another up when they would think about Joshua but nothing could take away this magical land where she had swam with the dolphins, the mythical elegant creatures of the sea.
