I didn't expect to find India

With the name of the title of the travel story "Beach where there's no sand" Itself suggests the difference. When, fir for the first time in my teens when I heard that there's a beach where you won't find sand at all, it's like unbelievable and quite surprising. And finally when I visited the place, I really feel amazed. And also I feared how can that be. There's a reason for the fear. So, so excited to know the place, the Beach without sand, yup let me unfold it to you! It's Pondicherry, the head quarter for the Puducherry Union territory of India. And the place is called the "Rock Beach". I've been there for the first time during my college days, as a part of the college tour to South India. We, all the students, went there and when we reached there, we all stopped at a point and leave all the luggage in the bus (the bus which we traveled through), and started walking along the road of the French Colony and the Rock Beach Road. We got so excited that we get down at Pondicherry. Some of my friends are so excited that the alcohol will be cheap over there as it's the Union Territory, and plans to drink more than the usual with the same budget! They rushed to the near by wine shops and get all the stuff they need and starts drinking at a local restaurant. As I came along, sits by them for sometime and then I came out! Then I alone starts walking along the road besides the Beach, where there's no sand at all, the "Rock Beach". I found many tourists, all the way, mostly the foreigners. On the way I stopped at a place, standing on a big stone just above the sea and watching the waves dashing the rocks, that's really an amazing experience. I also have fear, what if a huge wave comes and attacks us 😜. I also fears for the force the water bears the rocks. One side of the road is the beach. The water of the sea is actually touching the foundation of the road. I thought like they have constructed the road on the sea water. The road is constructed with the foundation of huge rocks and the water actually actually touches the same rocks. And the other side of the road is full of the buildings constructed, most of which are converted into restaurants, hotels and as the accommodation for the piligrims and travelers. There's a four line (may be a five line) colony called the French Colony, which is said that, the French, who invaded the country actually constructed the colony and lived there before the Independence. It is also said that, even after the independence, some of the French Refugees, stayed (and are staying, may be their heirs) there. But it's really a nice and pleasant place to stay. And it's really feels like we are in a place somewhere outside the county, i.e. in the French but within the country. As I go along the road, at a place, may be it might be the junction, I found the statue, just on the rocks, of Gandhi ( Mohan Das Karam Chand Gandi referred to as Mahatma), looking into, or say waking into, as the statue seems like he's waking, the colony or the place away from the Beach. When I approaches it, came to know it's actually a junction, there's a decent place opposite to the statue which is empty (which they usually uses for events). There I found another statue, Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of the country, who is facing the beach. So I understood that they both, Gandhi and Nehru, are facing each other. There's a market, just beside Nehru, the market for handicrafts, we find all the possible items and is a decent place. The crafts made with the shells attracts us and makes us stand there. There we will find different really nice items made with different sizes of shells and cones. Ornaments, toys, chains, lights and decorative items made with different sizes shells mainly the small ones and cones will attracts us and we definitely buy some thing if we didn't have much luggage. There's also another market opposite to it. There's also a big park nearby. As I walk along the road, I enjoy the sound of the waves and the buildings on the other side. I found a building, which I think may the Parliament/Assembly. Next great place in Pondicherry will be of course the Paradise Beach, where there will be sand. And we enjoy shopping at the market place, Pondi Marker (Bazaar).
