Oh boy! What a journey it was to travel to different parts of the World via sports and an opportunity to witness various aspects of the life such as culture, language, climatic conditions and meeting new people. Certainly sports tourism is developing faster than any other tourism. My tour to various places wasn’t beyond the sports and records. I hold three Limca Book of Records, 3 India Book of Records and 2 Telugu Book of Records in recreational/amateur running events. My stays during the tours were at different places such as local marriage convention hall, hospital, back packers, small hotels, friends’ places, temples to 5 star hotels. I’d to cope with different diet in different regions which was quiet interesting and challenging. My commute to various places was also phenomenal. It reminds a TV show “Around the World in 80 ways”. I’ve been to places that were cold to hot. Every visit to a certain places during the same season but in different years also gave me a unique experience. It’s needless to say about hospitality of local people during my visits. People in places like Punjab, India and Dhaka, Bangladesh were too good in hospitality. Following are sports travels: I ran half marathons across 24 Cities, 12 Cities & 1 Union Territory in India, 24 Cities, 5 Countries and 3 Continents. I ran 10 km runs across 7 States, 10 Cities and 2 Countries. I played Cricket in Countries such as Maldives, Sri Lanka, United Kingdom, Zimbabwe and Kenya. I rode single bicycle to several places. I took part in Heritage rides which has combination of digging history and endurance fun rides. I rode on single bicycle to places such as Chennai – Pondicherry, Chennai to Vellore, Chennai to Kesavaram where the Cooum River starts and Chennai to Mahabalipuram. Besides this heritage rides, I also took part in an endurance cycling event where I rode 200 km on a stretch from Chennai to Marakanam (near Pondicherry). I did a solo cycling expedition to promote cancer awareness where I rode bicycle across 7 Cities in Punjab. I covered up Cities such as Amritsar, Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, Ludhiana, Bathinda, Patiala and Chandigarh. It was an incredible life experience for me to spend my time with local people’s home. It gave me an opportunity to learn about their religion, culture and language. Besides sports, I travelled to various States in India which was also helpful for me understand several things that can help me to survive in new places. As far as I am concerned, travelling is all about learning new things and expressing them brilliantly to those who couldn’t able to travel and make them to feel like they travelled to that place.
