It was my first time, with snow! CHAMBA! Mai ni meriye Shimle di raahe chamba kitni durr Mai Ne Meriye Shimle di raahe chamba kitni durr Song which describes beauty of ‘Chamba’ serene views, scented winds, flowing water and snow caped mountains which fills you with surprise and enthusiasm. Writer described all of these very well in this folk song ‘Chambe Jana Jarur’, and while roaming one can actually feel the meaning behind song. I travelled to Pathankot from Chandigarh (India) for my final destination Chamba, from there me and my friend started our very first journey together to Chamba by bike. The roads were amazing and somewhere breathtaking because of width along the valleys. After riding 80 kilometres of mountain roads we finally reach to Dalhousie our first stop, after spending our first day there we started for Chamba our final destination. In the lap of beautiful Dhauladhar ranges some unexplored and small towns are located, riding along the snow covered mountains which can take your breath away we reached Khajjiar very small town of around 250 houses and beautiful ancient temples, with temperature ranges from 10° to -5° Celsius. After roaming around temples and getting mesmerizing by snow caped mountain we came along a frozen lake white heaven! I named it. Lake left us stunned I was just looking at it without letting my eye blink. There was a beautiful wooden house located at the centre of frozen heaven which was closed but one could imagine beautiful architecture inside by looking it from outside, it was beautifully carved and represents amazing local architecture. It was so beautiful felling inside outside and I was just spellbound by nature, human and their creativity. Second day we got up in the morning with snow fall, I saw snow falling from sky like pearl and again I awestruck! It was snow all around on road, on trees everywhere and now whole town turned into white heaven. Pine trees were exhilarating beauty of roads, they were elevating the view also giving depth to valley. While roaming on road distance feels infinite but walking on these infinite roads was soothing my soul and roads took my heart away to infinite depth, this snow fall brings happiness everywhere but we got stuck there and bike riding was not possible so we stayed there happily. Next day snow stopped falling and sun rises and we filled with different energy we rode on bike and started for Jot Pass another snow caped mountain, road were heavily covered with snow that water peeping form mountain was freezed and of course it was not possible riding bike in this situation our bike was skidding but we covered 3 and half km of stretch by bike and when almost a km was left, we fell down! Hahahahah… Yes you heard me right we fell down! After laughing a lot we finally get back and started pushing our bike and yes for that 1 km we pushed our bike by ourselves. It was chilling out there and valley was heaven and we enjoyed it fully whether it was pushing bike or frozen lake old temple or snow covered roads we enjoyed every inch of journey. I can’t forget this in my whole life, it thrilled me from my head to toe and gave me a totally different perspective in life. It gave me courage to face situation and also freeze me in time along with frozen lake and mountains. I felt so good about myself and about everything happening there at time.
