When I was about 8 I went on a trip with my family to Pennsylvania. There we stayed with my aunt's boyfriends family. It was extremely different from Indiana where I'm originally from. At the time I was scared because everything was so new and different. We were visiting around Halloween so most of the houses were beautifully decorated. I have horrible memory now due to an accident that happened to me when I was 19. However I remember in detail this beautiful old style house. It was white and blue. The house was huge. In the front yard there were beautiful what looked like handmade Halloween decor. A cute grave yard with grave stones and zombies and skellingtions. A ignoramus balloon spider that was purple and black. With a white balloon Webb to match. For some one that is in love with Halloween. This house was my heaven. It made me a little less scared on our trip. Later that same day we went to visit my aunts boyfriends grandmother. While we were there we went to a water fall. I was playing with Frank's younger brother and out of no where I couldnt find anyone. I got scared all over again and tried to make my way back home. When I fell and sliced my leg on some rocks. While I was crying and trying to get my leg to stop bleeding so I could walk. I heard a small whine. I took my long sleeved tee shirt and tore it up the make a bandage for my leg. After doing so I went looking for what made that whine. I went down by the water fall. In the lake part and followed it backwards away from the water fall. The sound got louder. Turns out there was a puppy trying to swim to get out of the lake. I got in and got the puppy it wasnt that far from me but it was struggling to stay above the water. It was hurt as well. I finally made my way back to Frank's grandmas house. They were worried about me and where looking everywhere. I limped up to the hohse covered in mud and blood carrying a small scared and hurt puppy. They asked me what happened I told them everything. They helpped cleaned both of us up and Frank's family ended up keeping the puppy I saved. I was so proud of myself. I got to name the puppy and I named her Brave. For being such a brave little girl. When I got back to school. I showed my friends and teachers the pictures of my trip including the house with the huge spider and the water fall. I also showed off and told them the story about how I saved a brave little puppy. I have a scar on my leg from that day but in the end it was all worth it to save an animals life. My teachers were impressed and I told them that if I got the chance again that I would do it all over in a heart beat. This world needs to be kinder to animals. It breaks my heart that this world is horrible at treating animals as well as people horribly. I am just glad that I was there that day to save a small puppy in need. I couldn't image what would have happened to her if I hadn't have been there or if I hadn't been left behind that day. It just upsets me when I think about those things. I hope someone learned something from my story and I hope that with my story more people stop and help an animal in need even if its just taking them to a vet. It changes our world one small act at a time. I for one want our world to become beautiful inside and out. Its been damaged by us the least we could do is to try to fix it and be kinder to it. I got all of that when I was 8 and there are people that still dont get that that are in their 50s or higher. Thank you for taking the time to read my life changing event.
