Built for Bali: Bali. The Australian version of paradise. Renowned for it's night-life, beach-clubs and traditional food, it's no wonder that this little slice of heaven is a local favourite. With return flights ranging from as little as $300.00 AUD, it's safe to say that we are 'Built for Bali'. Day One: I decided to move away from my inhabitants, to tag along with 'Kuber Bali Adventures' for some quad biking. This is not normally my 'cup of tea' (why have tea when you can have vodka, right?) After we were given the 'Bali-style instruction manual' of how the quad-bikes work, which is often no longer than ten words, we revved our engines and adventured through all terrains. We ventured through open fields, mountains and then to caves in complete darkness. Hot Tip #1: if your quad-bike's head-light stops working while you're in the midst of the dark, watery cave, keep on driving until you see the lights at the end of the tunnel. I learnt this the hard way, when my bike became stuck in a quick-sand like terrain. So, If you don't like getting your hands, boots, feet, or entire body dirty for that matter--then this activity probably isn't for you. Day Two: The most was exhausting day was the second to last of our trip. We swam with the fish at 'Blue Lagoon Beach'. It never ceases to amaze me how the fish all move together in complete synchronicity, as if the rhythm of mother-nature is within them. Hot Tip #2: After hopping straight into the water with my snorkelling kit and flippers, I swallowed what felt like 20 gallons of sea-water. So, as a wise word of advice, make sure that you put the goggles on first, and snorkelling mask on as the very last thing that you do!
