Cheetah village

A leap into the unknown Namibia

I have just driven for two hours from Windhoek to the Kanaan desert. It is time to ditch my car and bring out my dirt bike for the ride of a lifetime when all of a sudden I feel my eyes deceive me. I can't believe what I am seeing, Cheetahs are running around the desert like children in the park. Not only this; but I see Lions, Elephants, Zebras and many peculiar insects that are completely unheard of in my country. Instead of getting in my car and driving away, I decide to sit back and watch the animals play, sleep and hunt. After a bit of relaxing I decide to wiz around the mountains, the pack of Cheetahs sees this; and they approach me. They are not interested in eating me tho, instead, they are fascinated by my bike. I start to drive at top speed, but they keep up with me, but after a few miles they tire a bit and I manage to overtake them, then as I'm cycling an idea pops into my head. I set a landmark for me to reach and I slowly bring my bike back to the sleeping cheetahs, then when I start my bike the Cheetahs wake up and the race is on. They get off to a faster start, but I catch up to them, I'm in the lead with 100 meters to go, it's looking like I'm going to win, then my bike takes a slight skid and the Cheetah overtakes me, and he crosses the line first. Not feeling happy with coming second, I up the gear on my bike and prepare for my race back to where we started. This time around the Cheetahs are a lot more relaxed at the start and struggle to keep up with me, I am comfortably in the lead when all of a sudden this Cheetah picks up speed that I don't even think a formula one driver could produce, and as soon as they cross the line I designed with the desserts millions of years old sand, he just sits down and watches me cross the line looking disappointed. This has been amazing, I have raced a Cheetah. As I am about to cycle to my car he decides to jump on me and play with me, just like my Cat does at home, I feel really sad to be leaving him, but I think he expects it's time for me to go home. As I am putting my bike in the back of my car a hungry-looking Lion approaches me, I am feeling very scared, as the best day of my life is also likely to be my last, he starts growling at me, and walking angrily towards me. Then I realize when I was scouring the desert earlier on, he was chewing on a delicious Zebra. He is not hungry at all he is jealous of the cheetah. After I realize what's really happening, he is in fact eying up my bike. So I decide, if racing a Cheetah is fun, it must also be fun to race a Lion. So I get back on my bike and the Lion starts chasing me. We make it to the same landmark I raced the Cheetah at, then I rev up my bike and the second race happens. I beat the Lion comfortably, and the cheetah sees and decides to join in. They both race me around, and then I get this realization; not only have I raced a Lion and a Cheetah, but I have also made them race each other. All of a sudden, for the third time today, my heart drops, but this time I am really scared, but fortunately, I think I am a bigger shock to them than they are to me. Poachers turn up with plans to shoot the Lion, but in their shock of seeing me, they surround me, thinking I'm armed and make me get off my bike. As they are holding me up, both the Lion and the Cheetah jump from behind them and drag them away, turning them into a delicious snack and saving my life in the process.
