Fortunately, I found 1 May (Labour day) a free day. I along with my friends planned to visit Chitral a very historical city in Pakistan. We started our travelling in the afternoon on 30th April from District Dir Upper in Pakistan. It is a long distance to reach Chitral city. We finally at mid of the night entered Chitral city. We booked a room in a hotel. Chitral is a very bright city, day and night people are busy there. After getting relax, we asked people about the famous and historical places in Chitral. Although, I love travelling but just one day was free with us to travel. Ultimatly Kalash Valley was decided to be our destination by starting our journey in the early morning. When we got up in the morning cold breez was blowing. It was a heart touching blow of air. After breakfast, we got out towards Kalash Valley. Road was dangerous, narrow and very rough. Road had been constructed by cutting the hills. It is not less than an adventure to travel that road. It was 12.00pm when we touched the boundry of Kalash valley. A festival was running there as we kissed the middle of the valley. Kalash people has their own culture and tradition. They wear special type of clothes and a woolen made ring around there heads havig a long tail like muflar. They docorate this special ring with different colors of wool. We inquire more about their culture. They have three festivals in a year. They live in small wooden houses. They mourn over the dead body for few days in a special place constructed for it. The villagers are dancing in front of the dead body. In past deacades they buried the dead bodies with their daily use tools in a wooden box. A special graveyard is there having old notions. They allow guests to visit their homes freely. Alcohol is the famous drink they offer to their guests. Dry fruits are presented to people travelled from out side. They have a qeen which leads the guests to their homes without permission. Most of the population is very poor. We enjoyed a lot all the day long there. We left for our houses, and reached our homes late night. It was really interesting visit of my life. I want to travel more and more specially abroad. Exposure to different cultures and people for one day is more than a year experience.
