It's my first time in the most magical place in the world! New Orleans..... I had been looking forward to this to for quite sometime and It was finally here. I made sure to check out all the places I could in the French Quarter. And later in the trip even took a few tours. But, that's not what this story is truly about. It's about what I uncovered while checking out a few places. I ran across a place called Boutique Du Vampyre. Now, I don't know if you are a believer of the supernatural, but I am. So I had to check it out. I walked into a decent sized shop with art, books, journals, and of course plenty Vampire elements! After a while of browsing and finding a few fascinating things to add to my collection I had to the register to check out. There I find a beautiful woman with black hair and makeup. As she is checking the items, I strick up a conversation and she asked I believe in the supernatural and I told her yes. This is where she tells me of a place where Vampires have been told to frequent. She tells me it is a hidden bar above another bar. I follow her instructions and go find the really tall bar tinder with blonde hair, who leads me to the courtyard out back and unlocks a door for me. A door you can exit from but can not enter without the password the cashier gave me at the shop. She points up the stairs and says to go up the three flights until I come to the door with the key and locks the door behind me. I have to say, I was a bit nervous, although I loved the mystery. As I male my way up, I pass several lounging cats making theirselves at home. I finally reach the door with a key, and a sign that reads "Come on in, we're expecting you!" I smiled crossed my as I unlock the and step inside. I am greeted with the pleasant smell of incense, the lights were low, and it I was transported back in time. The furniture antique and the music soft and magnificent. I walk through the first room and come to the area with with the bar and more seating along with games, puzzles, and tricks. Even a book about all things vampires. My favorite part of the book is a list of killers who where thought to be vampires, including Jack the ripper. After spending sometime relaxing and reading, I make my way to the bar and ordered a drink. Some vampire vodka drink that was pretty. The bar tender was also the owner, she told me her story about how she came to be in New Orleans running a secret bar. I'll leave it to you to ask her the story yourself. Anyway, I grabbed my drink and found my way to the balcony over looking Bourbon street. I really was a night to remember. I soak in the night life, and contemplate how lucky I am to have went into that store, met that enchanting woman, the tall bar tender, and the speakeasy owner. These experiences are one of the many reason I am moving to New Orleans this year. Although, I would love to travel to would and get to come home to New Orleans and one day start a tour of my own. Maybe I will be someone's chance encounter, and could change their lives for the better!
