A leap into the unknown Thailand

My first trip out of the country and you can imagine how excited I must have been. I was on the top of the world. I couldn't believe I'm finally travelling over sea. I probably packed and repacked my Journey bag couple of times just to make sure I didn't miss out anything. I was told Bangkok is hot at this time(Feb) of the year, so I got all my summer dresses. I did keep rooms for more cloths to be brought back of course, Bangkok and no shopping? That's impossible. Bangkok and Shopping are Synonyms. Some friends teased us saying "So you guys are leaving your boyfriends at Home and going on a vacation to Bangkok? mmm. I ignored knowing nothing. While we were checking in at Kolkata airport, the immigration officer smirked at us saying "Oh ho! going Bangkok, only girls?". The smirking was mischievous(notorious may be). I didn't understand why everyone is particularly concerned about all girls trip to Bangkok until I reached Pattaya Lol!. Just close to where we stayed was Walking street. The street is nicknamed as Sin City. walking Street is possibly the most intense red light district in Thailand. It attracts guys who are looking for sex tourism. The very first initial impression blew me away of how crazy the place is. It's a long street with neon lights which is also referred as Las Vegas of Asia . Walking around the area was extremely over stimulating. Many people would come up and offer us various things such as: “eat here… pussy show?, sex show?, ping pong show? etc…” This place is crazy. A man pulled out a laminated card and it had a "menu” of crazy things. The entire Kamashutra was displayed here. Girls in skimpiest cloths were showcasing their moves to attract customers. There were strip shows lined up on the either side of the street. Overly enthusiastic door men and women would greet you to enter. A boy was literally pulled inside by those girls. The boy was shouting 'Help me' while his friends enjoyed him being taken over. I stood there amazed. As we went deeper into the street there were street sketching, Street performances. These were interesting stuff apart from the sex tourism in the street. At the end of the street is a small beach. Now I realized why all those smirking and teasing was all about (whereas we chose Bangkok, for it was the cheapest oversea trip). We sat there for sometime savoring all the goodness Pattaya had to offer, promising each other to always remember the crazy, awesome all girls trip we had till we grow old. However crazy the walking street might be, yet I would suggest you to pay a visit to this place if you are here in Pattaya. It's an experience.
