Preconceived notions regarding people extend to places aswell. The mental imagery that is created and perpetuated by social media is not always true. Take me for example. I am a heavy woman who always thought I couldn't travel to any asian country due to my weight. Low and behold, people are as accepting if not more so than anywhere else I have been. The history that exists every where I looked from the street signs to the subway even to the mahjong gardens to this day tskes my breath away. The Chinese culture is vast and intricate but beautiful to observe and be a part of. During my brief stay in the busy city, I explored the cuisine from the local McDonald's to the local fish market. I toured the city on foot, discovering strange fun filled places in the oddest places. For example, the Skywalk of fame, with murials of all well known Chinese celebrities in a park like setting.
