My travel story is about a trip I made to Egypt in June of last year. Surely, I keep within me a rich experience of this unforgettable moment. I didn’t expect that i will be one day in Egypt. It was like a surprise! One of my best memories, indeed! It's June 25th, 2019, I'm going to the airport for my first time. It was my first time to travel by plane. It was my father who accompanied me because he was already used to travel outside the country. Hehelped me to fill in everything before going into transit. When I went into transit, I was wondering how I was going to do it, I was asking myself a lot of question like how will I know if it's time to leave, how am I going to do it. Everything was constantly circulating in my head. But each time I took my father's instructions with me. It's time to finally enter. For the first time I set up my feet in the plane. Experience! For a start, I didn’t find the right place because I was not able to decode my boarding pass. I laughed at myself. It was so funny to look at my movements like if I lost something. I was wondering what I was going to do once in Addis Abeba since I had already been told that it was a huge airport and very easy to get lost. Fortunately, when we were getting ready to go out the plane , I got to know a Rwandan who came to greet me and ask me if I could be a Burundian. A great chance… He became my guide and he leads me to my Get. He had helped me in everything up to my terminal. I push a sigh of relief. So awesome. I’m finally landing at Cairo International Airport in Egypt for the first time ! Here I am , inside the country of civilization, as they call it . Suitcase in hand, backpack, i walk quietly through a huge airport where I meet other people, other culture, of course an another world. I have to manage since some of the natives speak more Arabic instead of English. Tt becomes a serious matter but fortunetely my english was there to save me though... An amazing adventure was about to begin, alone in Egypt to cover the AFCON 2019. I appreciated being in another unknown environment, discovering other customs, I impressed by the cultural diversity it offered. I got to know Burundian students living there and until now I keep in touch with some of them, to mean that I gain friends. I attended AFCON matches which was my biggest childhood dream. I visited touristic places like The Pyramids, the Nile of which in Burundi we have a source. Finally this trip to the land of the Pharaons permit me to discover the Mediterranean sea which has taken human lives. Men, women and children have succumbed to it in seeking of a better life away in other countries, migration. Instead of contemplating its beauty and highness, there were only images of those lifeless lives which fell into that sea, which was paraded in front of my eyes. Sad tragedy. In general, my travel story was an unforgettable memory. The best of my good memories. if I studied you in class before , Egypt, let me tell you that , I finally got you !
