Hi. I was raised that "It Pays To Be Nice." Well, let me tell you, when you are travelling alone, it certainly does "Pay To Be Nice." I went to Hawaii for a breather. I had just left a job, & was deciding "What to do Next." I had a nice flight. It was coach, as I was trying not to spend too much money. I had a safe flight, then went to a hotel. It was a nice hotel, with an awesome staff. As I checked in, the manager noticed my roller skates. Yes, I used to skate everywhere. She said she had two daughters, and they loved to roller skate. I just smiled. She then proceeded to give me a huge discount, on a very nice room. Wow. How sweet it is! Then she asked me, if I would babysit, one night for her, because the hotel was short staffed, and needed her to work. I said sure, why not? She told me about this bodacious roller skating rink, with tubular disco skating music. I said I would take the girls there. She drove us, and we had such a great time disco roller skating. Then, the next day was so gorgeous out. I spent the day body surfing. Then, as the sun was setting, I noticed that the local boys have catamarans. They take tourists out for a sunset sail. I hopped on. So much fun. The next day, repeat. Body surfing. Sunset catamaran sail into the sunset. This time, no charge for me. He taught me how to set sail on a catamaran, right into the sunset. How awesome is that? Now, it is time for dinner. So hungry after all this fresh, sunny air & exercise. I go to the local seafood restaurant. So crowded. I had a strawberry daqquiri at the bar, while waiting for my table. This tall handsome man was sitting at a table, with a group of people. It turns out that it was his mother's birthday. He came up to the bar, after smiling at me, and invited me to join the festivities. I looked at his mother, smiled, and she said, " Yes, come and join our little party!" It was such an awesome ending, to a beautiful day. Oh, did I mention that the Surf & Turf was to live for. Yummy. The birthday cake was also delicious. But, that's not all. I was supposed to head to Maui. I went there before, and I just love Maui. I never made it to Maui, as I had such a great time in Waikiki Beach. Now, it is time to leave. I go to the airport to cash in my ticket to Maui. The attendant at the desk, refunds my Maui ticket, then upgrades me to first class all the way back to New York. I had a stop over at San Francisco. I am waiting to connect to my New York flight. I am sipping on a strawberry daquiri, and lo & behold, Romeo, is staring at me. He tells the waitress to bring me another strawberry daquiri. He then glides over, introduces himself to me, stares into my eyes and declares his instantaneous lust for me. LOL!!!!! OMG! Wowie Zowie Wowie. He wants me to cancel my itinerary and move right in with him. I do not move that quickly. Slow down. Tiger. We exchange phone numbers. I ate and drank first class all the way home. I walk in the door, The phone rings. Guess who it is? Romeo. He did not waste any time, did he? So, to make a long stroy short. It is so OK to travel alone, but, it does "Pay To Be Nice," doesn't it? I hope you all enjoy my travel alone story. I had a good time reliving it and writing it. Be fearless also pays off.
