Travel to Cuba could be a all new experience and you will need to be prepare for the unknown. Is a very chaotic society full with colors, cigar, old classic cars, rum, music on the streets and an amazing food. To really know Cuba you must be away from tourism packages and Cuban Hotels. Is very easy and more cheap if you just walk around the cities. Get a rent in a private house and be in touch with Cubans families. You will find taxis everywhere or even rent a Cuban classic car which are amazing and very well preserve. The culture in this country is extremely diverse, i have found interesting places even on the street, there a famous place in Centro Havana called Callejon de Hamell with Cuban folklor music and marvelous ambience. If you are in Old Havana in a walking distance you will find the most amazing architecture and a lot of places when you can drink and eat for very reasonable prices. Interesting places are everywhere, Floridita just on the corner of Monserratte street with the best daiquiri in town , Bodeguita del Medio located in O’Really street very near to The Cathedral where you can taste the famous Mojito and even you can can register your visit to the place by writing your name on the wall, Callejon del Chorro in full with small Cuban food restaurants famous by the Black beans and pork, Cathedral Square, Old Plaza Square where you can taste Cuban coffee and handmade beer in the Factory located in the same area and the seafront, oh, the view is amazing. As part of the architecture you will find three fortress, Los tres Reyes del Morro, La punta y La Cabaña, takes you back in time when the island was on Spanish hands and had Spanish vessels coming in and out constantly. If you are a photography lover and you visit one of this three places you really will capture the essence of a very old city, 500 years now. Something very interesting and entirely different is visit Pinar de Rio! If you are a fan of landscapes, mountains, rivers and cigar plantations I highly recommend Viñales. Is no cheap to travel there but the experience is beyond words. Very early in the morning you can take a tour inside Soroa and visit the waterfalls, take a walk to the Castle in the Clouds, am amazing place with the most wonderful view of the valley. You can stay day for the night and the price will be between 25-30 cuc per night. For cigar fans this is a must do activity because you can get in touch with the farmers and also get some handmade cigars. This is a very expensive product but what to expect, is the best quality you will ever find. Food in this area is outstanding and very cheap, I highly recommend El Campesino in Viñales, traditional Cuban food and the view from the restaurant is unbelievable because you have a tobacco plantation and mountains. On your way back you can stop in Las Terrazas and maybe have Canopy. Amazing! Night life in the City is amazing, everywhere there is music, drums, bars in every corner. To know them all you have to do is walk around and ask for directions on the street, people is very communicative and friendly, also is very safe to walk around even if you don’t know the city. You will read many stories, there is no gasoline but we have taxis and even rent a car, no food but every restaurant in town offers you the best food possible, internet problems are in the past, all you have to do is to by an internet card and you will have internet in different WiFi zones all over the city. You can also visit other cities such as Trinidad, Cienfuegos and the popular Varadero with the most amazing white sand beach. Is being quite an experience!
