I always the desire to fly. I always wondered how it felt like. I had an idea on what to expect inside the cabin but i couldn't imagine the feeling of the "take off". I decided to visit East London (South Africa Eastern Cape Province). The reason I decided on the destination was the affordability. The accommodation was affordable for someone was earning my salary. I also wanted to experience the beach. In my research, the place was laid back so it was good for my personality too. I booked my flight with the cheapest airline and also booked my accommodation****** On the date of travel(it was on Friday) I went to the airport, checked in and boarded. The process was less complex. no one could tell I was a first time traveler. During take off I was relaxed as soon as the flight was cruising we took off our seat belts and relaxed. it was a short flight because before I knew it we were buckling on for landing. we landed safe. I went to the arrivals to get my Suitcase and went outside to taxify (uber). The car took me to the Sugar Shack Backpackers where I was accommodated for two nights. On Saturday we went hiking with other guests at the hostel. i came back very tired and went to sleep. Later on at about 6pm i woke up and went to chill outside and watch the waves at the beach. Mr Richard joined me. As we were busy chatting more people came to join us. late at about 10pm Mr Hugo took me for a drive. we viewed the city. the scenery was perfect and the smell of the beach was refreshing. On Sunday morning I woke up and had breakfast. Mr Hugo came back to say goodbye since we all had a good time on Saturday. I took a shower and checked out later that morning. Mr Hugo then suggested we take a drive around like we did the previous night. I was open to the idea because I had nothing much to do. We drove around town, he then took me to where the car races. It was a fun experience because i love speed. He then went on to show me Mercedes Benz Harbor. It was gigantic. We then went to East London Harbor to see the Cruise Ships. Even though we were not allowed to go in because of the policies i did managed to see Princess Cruise up close. We then went to Sea Spirit (fish restaurant). It was different. We set down and dined. the meal was delicious that we stopped eating with folk and knife and started eating by hand. We then drove back to the hostel. i freshened up and Mr Hugo drove me to the airport. At the airport I checked in with better experience now and waited for boarding time. I then flew back to Johannesburg. This experience gave me fulfillment. It made me realize that the world is not as cruel as most view it to be. it made me realize that people are welcoming out there. Going into a destination without knowing anyone, without any itinerary but so much experience made me aware that traveling is worth it. I am in a position where I can stand alone and face the world without fear because I know I once did it. It is therefore possible for others to do it. i have had people asking me how did I do it. What was I thinking. Others even said that I am weird. I would not change this experience for anything in the world, instead, I am looking for more ventures similar to this one so that I can encourage more people to explore by themselves, to love self, value self and reconnect with self. They need to know that all it takes is COURAGE. Thank You.
