My friend and me had a planned to visit Scotland. Due to some last minute assignment my friend couldn't travel, so I booked a 3 day tour online and jumped onto a bus to reach Edinburgh from London. Though the journey was uneventful finding the office in the morning was scary. The tour was supposed to start at 7 and till 6:45 I kept on walking up and down the road but still couldn't find their office. With tears almost ready to spill out of my eyes finally a guy walked upto me and took me to the office. After getting thanked not only be me but also the tour operator, I finally my parents back in India my change of plans. They were pleasantly surprised as I had never done anything this random and adventurous in my life before. I had finally taken a leap of faith and jumped head first into the unknown. I had recently come out of a five year long relationship which had ended suddenly and left me quite shakenshaken and broken. After this first hitch I forgot all my inhibitions and enjoyed every second of this memorable trip. Made friends with people from all over the world. I'm still in touch with one of them who has now become an English teacher in Czech Republic. Took my first solo travel pictures. Helped in cooking a curry meal for around 12 people. Stayed in my first hostel backpackers accommodation. Fell in love with the beautiful countryside. Wrote a lot of poems. Cleaned up after the meal and danced with these lovely people I had met. Realised life is not perfect and nothing is in our control the only thing which matters is that you are alive and free and have loving family support. So don't cry over people who left you and be happy for self and travel as much as you can. When you are down and out the only thing which nobody can take from you is your happy memories and for me happiness is traveling to new places., meeting new people, trying new food, learning new customs. Embrace the unknown and build upon your knowledge by traveling and learning new things every second as that might be the last second of your life.
