09th September 2019, afternoon drive from Dubai to Ras Al Khaimah. Ras Al Khaimah was approximately 111.8 km from Dubai, basically took us 1 hour and half plus unaccounted time for traffic areas like Sharjah which varied during weekdays and weekend. We (My fellow colleague and her daughter) planned to spend our weekend there (RAK). It was my first road trip (by private car) and explore other places in UAE. I totally love outdoors, natural habitat or remote environment; my definition for freedom and tranquility. Ras Al Khaimah was a quiet place, a huge difference between Dubai. It was peaceful, less movement, less cars and its population. When we finally arrived I stayed my night at my colleague’s crib. We talked about which time would be best to go at Jebel Jais since summer still heating up during noon time. Morning we do our road trip and stop over at some local market, and later afternoon our main destination was to reach Jebel Jais before sunset. There’s a lot of considerations when choosing which season would best to travel with. It was still summer, however, when we arrive on one of the highest spot of Jebel Jais Mountain, it was pretty chilly. I was dumbstruck of the view, we waited until the sun set. The color of the dusk was truly a bliss. We agreed that our next visit we’ll stay overnight for sunrise view. 27th February 2020, Thursday night around 9 in the evening we left Dubai to visit Jebel Jais Mountain once again. This time we packed up as planned before. We reached at the top by 11 pm at 10 degrees temperature, we parked to the parking area and afterwards we assemble our tent and some chairs. We had some nice Karak chai which is purely made by black loose tea leaves, crushed cardamom, sugar and milk. Around 12 am to 1 am a lot of other nationalities came by, probably family and friends. I was hype up and walked around to see other people enjoying the night and their barbecues. My colleague, aside her daughter, she invited as well her boyfriend which came from Philippines a month ago for 3 months’ vacation in Dubai. They’re all went asleep, due to my excitement for sunrise I wasn’t able to sleep well (laughs). So what I did, I brought my book for Architecture and read some. By 5:30 am I decided to go out to our tent and walk again. It was too cold, and I’m impressed a lot of people gradually arrived. I checked the sunrise update and it was stated by 6:16am. Some photographers prepared their kit for sunrise. The color of the dusk which we left on our last visit was the same color before the sun rises. “What a stunning view!’’ one man on my left. The bluish-velvet sky was truly magnificent. It feels somewhat magical-like, it never ceases to enjoy the spectacular view. The connection between man and nature was truly gift from Almighty.
