My travel was mixed with amazing, enjoyment, panic and emotions, as my travel was occurred at the late days of 2017 and early days of 2018 when the devastating drought hits in most rural villages in Somalia which effected almost 3.4 million of Somali people. My travel was started from Bosaso town in Bari region and crossed many effected villages in Bari, Sanaag, Sool and Nugal regions, I was enjoyed the life on road and feel proud to assist the effected population as I was responsible the monitored and implantation of approximately 2700 tanks per 40 barrels of water trucking and distributed water storage bladers, dozens of NFIs, hygiene kits and nutrition supplies. At that was worked with Save the children as a program officer, the working was increased because of emergency, I was used to travelled across the villages and pastoral Camps even at night hours to reach the most needed communities. I slept in the camps and small villages. The other side I was emotional since there was a lot of dead livestock scattered around the sides of travel road, the people were severely in need, there was water scarcity, food shortage and climate were hot and dry. Usually Somalia people uses goat meat and camel milk and they gives their guests but at that time they totally messed these food items and relied on the food folks from the government, aid agencies and Somali diaspora. Usually I like to look outside the windows to see the nature and land skype, reading and guitar songs are my favorite’s when I am in life on the roads. Also understanding and learning the different cultures, values and norms of community has high value to myself. My internships and study trips in Ethiopia was the highest rank of my trips that impacted myself as I met with many people different culture and norms and values because Ethiopia has people with different ethnicities.
