A leap into the unknown India

Why is that we all are afraid to explore the unknown? Is it because we are scared to be known in the unknown? The quest of exploring who I am and what is my role in making this world a better place began when I was 18 years old. It is my birth lottery being born in Mumbai, a metropolitan city and having access to numerous privileges that I never acknowledged in my life. It was a deep yearning to explore the unseen human experiences. My initial experience was going into the remotest village of Maharashtra, India to understand the crisis. I took a reflective thought back to investigate it further- Can my privilege be an enabler to make this world a better place? It has been 4 years working in the social development space and each day has been learning to explore me and the world around me. It has been an extraordinary journey to explore the everyday lives and world of people in rural, semi-urban and urban areas. I have wandered around in the slums of Mumbai city, visited remote tribal villages of Maharashtra, been on treks in the Sahyadri Ranges experiencing the interconnected stories of life. Connecting to people has helped discover the little blessings in my life. These interactions have helped me discover my unknown self which helps me to work with my limitations and reflect better in the work I do. This leap into the unknown self has been an on-going journey to work on my being has taught me to be- In Omnia Paratus (ready for anything) and an example in making this world a better place. Everyone has a story to tell, a moment to cherish but are we looking inside and outside to capture these moments?  The journey from the unknown to the known has made me believe that magic begins outside of my comfort zone.
