Have you ever been wondering what a Paradise would look like? If the answer is no, you might find out about Raja Ampat. This place surely has the reflection of Paradise. Raja Ampat is located off the northwest tip of Bird's Head Peninsula on the island of New Guinea. Raja Ampat or translated as Four Kings is an archipelago with four main islands, Misool, Salawati, Batanta, and Waigeo. There was a well-known myth behind the name of Raja Ampat or this infamous King Four, the hidden gems of Indonesia. The origin of Raja Ampat according to the local community comes from a woman who found seven eggs. Four of them hatched into four princes and each of them became ruling king in Misool, Salawati, Batanta, and Waigeo. As Indonesian citizen who lived in Sorong it is easier for me to get to the this paradise. On 2018 I applied a job as babysitter of a three years old girl who her mother was a dive manager in a resort. At first I thought my job will be “just” fun because I love kids but it turned out as my magical encounter with the paradise. As her mother was a dive manager I got a benefit to get some free trips to unforgettable dive and snorkeling spots in Raja Ampat. I didn’t know how to swim at first, I was so scared about the ocean but once a dive guide taught me to swim and did snorkel it was my free pass to the paradise! I did snorkel mostly at the corals garden in front of our resort, I went to Melissa’s garden, Sawandarek, Arborek, House reef which is known as the best diving-snorkeling spot and guess what I got the chance to do discovery scuba diving as well! I did two dives during my stay at the resort while kept on my job as a baby sitter! Not only those benefit I had, I got an experienced to work with their foundation as COTS prevention for healthy corals in Raja Ampat. I think I would never ever forget this encountered again! I keep thinking myself about how am I going to see those sharks, turtles, mantas, colourful corals, and other creatures again...
