It was 2009 & The peak to peak gondola was still being built, It was the winter before the 2010 Olympics and everyone was preparing, the town and the mountain for the this exciting event! I was 14 the powder was fresh and the view when I got to the top of the mountain was breathtaking, the air...... I breath in and out slowly, in through my nose out through my mouth the air is cold and crisp. The clouds look like a lake beneath me as I skii down the trails I decide to dip in and out of the trees whipping the fresh powder like a wave of water, I felt free at last I had never felt so at one with my soul. The trees stood as high as some skyscrapers and the diameter alone would take twenty men wrapping their arms around holding hands to wrap around the base of these enormous ancient landmarks of our national forests. I had met lots of unique and interesting people from all around the world during this journey. The mountains lodge was so cozy and inviting, it felt almost like a second home and not to mention the amazing food not only at the lodge but at the local restaurants were the same vibe met along with all the events that were going on while I went, the I personally scene were amazing, not to mention the fantastic customer service we got everywhere we went was all around beyond satisfactory it felt like a second home, I would truly go back and stay there anytime and plan to in the near future with my son. We have always been an adventures bunch. I met an a cute Austrailian family along the way during my family's travels there ; The stories this family had to tell from all their travels was astonishing they had scene the top of some of the most iconic mountains and canyons globaly, I still keep in contact with the daughter who is my age. One day I Inspire to be able to take my son with me on all of these journeys The next trip I have planned is a trip for us to go to Mexico and maybe Florida. I've heard so many amazing things about the resorts near Disney, and Disney itself so I am really looking forward to taking him there not only do I get an amazing discount from my previous job through the Gateway Casino in Point Edward not only on flights but at disney itself. My son is 6 and at the age where he will think all the characters are real ! I'm beyond excited for not only myself for a much needed get away but for my sons very first vacation outside of Canada! I've always dreamed of being a Mational Geographic photographer and journalist growing up. I studied many languages and religions along with different cultures cuisines I've always wanted to be able to truly embrace every culture of the world. Have you ever watched the wild thornberrys as a child ? If you were a 90's babe like myself that you will be very familiar with the show if not there show maybe your familiar with Steve Irwin and his family? They have always truly inspired me especially the passion for the nature and the animals in each surrounding they're adventure upholds how they truly embrace it all I've always dreamt to follow in similar footsteps. As a single mother that dream has always seemed a little far fetched to me, but I have now come to realize that anything is possible when it comes to something your passionate about. I truly believe a future where I chase my dream would benefit my son in the future if I take the passion on full time but in the meantime why not indulge myself and do it on occasion and start up a blog on or annual trips and our adventures around ontario, I've thought long and hard about it and honestly I cant think of any negative impacts doing this would be if anything it will be purely beneficial for my son and advance his education. -Kora .M.
