As sun sets his eyes on those sky touching mountains, illuminating them to their glory I hit the road with 11 strangers, all of them want to reach this unknown destination and finish their own goals. About me I did not have anything in my head. Mountains had always scared me, I knew this journey was not going to be easy. It would be hard, really hard, but I knew deep in my heart that it would be best for me and life won't reward me without hard work. Misty smoke floats over and covers mountains and valleys spreading out for miles in front of and around me. Before me are colors a thousand rainbows mixed together could not duplicate. The most talented artists could never capture their beauty and glory with mere paint. Shades of green turn to yellow, turn to gold, turn to orange, turn to red, scarlet and purple. Sound of water splashing against rocks as it rages down streams traveling into abyss. I hear the sound of wind blowing gaudy colored leaves through trees the southing sound puts my troubled mind at ease. The air is clear, crisp, fresh and easy to breath. Here, in this place, I feel I have all that I need. There is a feeling of tranquility around me and inside of me. Tall and bold like a castle, looming in the dark. They rose to a towering height as everything beneath, cowers in fright. I could smell the pine everywhere around me, feel, taste, and hear all the earth around me. The sound of birds chirping and spikes engaging in snow was like music box. As we drove closer to the distant hills the larger they got. It takes many miles to realize what they really are. I gaze upon them with amazement, they are tall and bold as they stand mighty in the distance. Our trek was in 4 stages, taking things that would keep me warm in those chilly nights and no extra baggage this time, no luxurious things that I had bought. Only necessary things, loading bag on my shoulders I began my journey. Reaching at the base, I was amazed by the nature and it's beauty, I raised my head towards the sky at the peak of Kedarkantha. It was my Goal.It is so high up, and I knew I will have to climb the steep hills with and against the harsh cold winds. Summit day eating my breakfast at 2:45 am in morning, I trusted my feet and my gut I began walking behind our leader. I couldn't stop climbing the steep hills after I started. I stopped and looked up, at the night sky mesmerizing me with so many stars. I couldn't see the peak at first but kept walking knowing I'll reach up there. I stopped and looked up again, I knew getting closer. With every step I grew stronger, I did not care about sore body, running nose and it took me a minute to realize that I'm at the top. I kept looking in the distance and only saw the beauty of the land, thousands of feet above the sea. I made it to the top of this Mighty Mountain. I stood there watching the sun rise through the mist and how it changed the night sky. I faced my worst nightmares, worst cold (-25°C) and moved my own mountains to reach here and no longer fear anything. It was time that I felt warmth of the rising sun as portraying the best landscape and I knew in that moment, I am whole on my own. And to all those people who underestimated me, my will power, endurance and determination. Well guess what I did it. It is rightly said, "it's not the Mountains we conquer but ourselves."
