Juping into a new culture

In 2018, I had gone on holiday for a week or two at a time and I thought that could be counted as travelling. Then I decided that I wanted to study abroad as part of my degree, and I moved to America for University. It was at this point that I realised that I had never been travelling before but rather just on holiday, as without spending a long time in a place, you would never understand the fascinating culture. I immersed myself completely and join a sorority which was so foreign to me. Day-to-day activities posed new and silly challenges like going to the supermarket and asking for clingfilm when they call it plastic wrap. A girl in my sorority asked me if she could come and visit me in England and if we could get the train to Australia because she had always wanted to see a kangaroo. All of these little cultural differences were fascinating, and I still talk to some of the people I met there and they have even come to England to visit me.
