The land of Kings, The culture of Royals : Rajasthan The art and culture with tradition is the second name of Rajasthan and also known for Scarifies, Bravery. As I want to start the journey then there are major destinations from where to I started. Jaipur “Jaipur is the capital of Rajasthan, and in my opinion the best place to visit. It is an amazing hub of history. It’s called the Pink City because all the architecture has a hint of pink in the stones used. It’s an amazing stop for all kinds of food but also for history and shopping. It has a little bit of everything.” Udaipur “This is the most picturesque part of Rajasthan—it has actually been called the Venice of the East because of all the lakes and palaces. People think Rajasthan is in the middle of the desert, but to see all this water is pretty incredible. The marketplaces here are also fantastic. It’s just a very distinct culture, from the clothes to the food.” Pushkar “I love Pushkar because of the Pushkar Fair, which happens every fall—it’s this camel festival, with ornately-dressed camels, camel races. But the reason I truly love this city is the Hindu mythology behind it. It is located on the shores of Pushkar Lake, and they say that Pushkar Lake was created by the tears of Lord Shiva, making it one of the oldest cities.” Jodhpur Famous for its magnificent forts and palaces, Jodhpur is the second largest city of Rajasthan and a major tourist attraction in the country. The city is situated at the edge of the Thar Desert with Jaisalmer on its west, Barmar, Jalor and Pali on its south, Bikaner on its north, and Nagaur on the eastern side. The city dominated by the massive Mehrangarh fort on a rocky hill is charming with its wealth of historic attractions and colourful markets which specialises in antiques. It is still one of the leading centres of wool, cattle, camels and salt. Chittaurgarh Chittorgarh is among the most historic fort city in the Indian state of Rajasthan. The reason for this is the rich history and cultural heritage of the city that is wrapped around with elements of chivalry, tragedy and Romanticism. The majestic Chittaurgarh Fort in here was the pride of erstwhile Rajput kings who ruled over here and stood mighty and proud even after facing several wars and attacks from enemy battalions. There are numerous minarets, forts, palaces and temples in and around Chittaurgarh which are a must-visit. What to Eat The Rajwadi land of Rajputs is a paradise for foodies out there. Rajasthani cuisine is among those rare cuisines boasting of a never-ending platter with a plethora of dishes; ranging from tangy drinks to spicy starters, mouth-watering sabzis and crunchy bread along with added delights of chutneys, achars, papad and chhach. Not to forget the delicate desserts and rich crunchy delights that melt in your mouth instantly! Rajasthani cuisine is influenced by its rich heritage and arid climatic conditions. The little availability of fresh fruits and vegetables distinguishes their cuisine. A few common ingredients are beans, lentils, gram flour, corn, barley, millet, bajra, bread and dairy products (esp. Ghee). There is more inclination towards vegetarian food, but various kinds of meat dishes prevail as well. The famous Rajasthani dish needs no introduction. Dal bati churma is synonymous to Rajasthan; known for its crunchy batis, dipped in ghee along with spicy daal and sweet churma. Where to Shop Rajasthan is home to some of the best shopping in the country. Because Rajasthan has such a distinct style in its clothing, jewelry, and art, you can find especially unique and high quality goods here—embroidered shoes (for both men and women) called jutis, lakh necklaces (known for their super intricate detailing), and silk jodhpuri kurtas (a staple for stylish Indian men).
