South Africa was our first trip to Africa. After much research and planning, we will venture into a 17-day itinerary of great learning and enchantment for this beautiful destination. It was a very enriching trip ... we learned about apartheid - a regime of racial segregation that left profound marks in the country's history. We had contact with animal species that we could imagine getting close to. We were dazzled by beautiful beaches and national parks, until the first time in the Indian Ocean, we drank delicious wines, we laughed and we had a lot of fun ... it was one of the best expedition trips we have ever used. In Johannesburg, a panoramic city tour through the city showed us the abysses of social inequality that South Africa still carries as healing of a regime of violation of segregation. We had the privilege of visiting the Apartheid Museum and learning about the country's history, how it works like things in the apartheid era and how the country managed to win this system. We followed Johannesburg to a very charming accommodation on a private reserve and the next contact with wild animals, which before was only seen as a zoo or in movies, was incredible. Right now, we live a luxury experience in an African country. Super comfortable accommodations, delicious meals and cars that take us on a wild adventure ... always, of course, with a stop for coffee or a drink with unique views and landscapes. Next stop - Port Elizabeth, a friendly seaside town that was our starting point for touring the Jardim Route ... in fact, the city is not part of the route, but the attractions on the way do not allow attention and we decided to start here. Our tour followed from Port Elizabeth to Jeffrey's Bay, a famous beach for international surf tournaments. We pass through Tsitsikamma national park to make a trail of the suspension bridges from where you can observe the meeting of the sea with the river. We went to Knysna, and here we had the opportunity to visit an Elephant Sanctuary, where we could eat and play. Visit the Museum of Bartolomeu Dias, in Mossel Bay, and learn a little about the era of sailing and difficulties faced more than 500 years ago to overcome the limits of the southern tip of the African continent. We had a brief visit to the small town of Swellendam, where we were one of the most delicious restaurants on the trip. We finally arrived in Cape Town. Located between the mountain and the sea, a city with varied attractions for all traveler profiles. Come with a panoramic city tour to find the best. Take a walking tour of the historic center and learn more about this city that was the starting point for colonization in South Africa. Visit the Botanical Gardens, in a city high on Table Mountain, enjoying the beaches of Camps Bay and Clifton, visit Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela and other leaders of the anti-apartheid movement have been missing out for years and enjoying fun times at the Waterfront. Visit the Cape of Good Hope and discover a more extreme tip of Africa. Of course with a quick stop before seeing the penguins at Boulders Beach. Close to Cape Town, visit a charming Stellenbosch, one of the country's wine polo towns, where we taste delicious local wines and recorded a fun segway ride at the Spier winery. Delicious day ... I can say what a dream in South Africa is with the right foot. An unforgettable trip, full of surprises and special moments. I can't wait to start planning the next one.
