During the flow of life certain experiences sometimes turn out to be so significant and inspirational that it not only gives us new outlook and perception but also helps to guide our future course of actions. My first ever travel journey with my friends was that particular experience. During my childhood days I read a lot of adventurous books. Since then I always wanted to become an adventurous and outgoing person. One day a friend of mine called me and told me that he and his friend were going for a hiking trip in the remote mountain area in Bangladesh which known as Bandarban. I told him to count me in with them for the trip. We took bus and after 8 hours of journey we were able to reach at Bandarban. From there we took a car which specially made for the mountain roads and locally known as ‘Chander Gari’. After another 5 hours of journey we managed to reach at the Ruma bazar where we took our lunch. Then we hired a local guide who’s going to navigate us in the mountain area. He told us that due to road construction the short route and we’ve to stay here for two days before going there or we could take the longer route which basically going to involved with 3 hours boat ride in the river and then few more hours of hiking and after that we’ll reach our destination. We took the longer route by boat which was one of the most amazing boat rides of my life where I was mesmerized with the fascinating combination of mountain and river with their enchanted beauty. After the ride we started our journey when it was almost dark. Although our guide told us it will be only few hours of hike but it turned out as one of the most brutal hikes of my life. This hike was my first hiking trip ever and same for my other two friends as well. So, all of us very inexperienced on hiking. At the start of the hiking it was very difficult for us as we were losing our breath quickly because we’re going uphill. After an hour the whole mountain area became pitch black dark. Then we used our torches to move ahead. At one point we realized that we’re supposed to reach at our desire destination by this time but we’re nowhere near to our destination. Our guide then replied us that previously he just had used this road twice, so he didn’t know the exact path sharply and also in the darkness it’s not easy to figure out correct trails. After roaming around the area for some time we came to a conclusion that we’re lost in the mountain. It’s better for us to not move ahead and stay the night here at the mountain. Because it was in rainy season so we couldn’t able to fire the wood. We take shelter under a tree for the night. The problem was it started to rain soon after we sat there. But we have no choice but to stay there. The whole night we got bitten by leeches and other insects. At morning we came down to the mountain and discover that we took the opposite route and got lost in the mountain. Other than that night the rest of the tour was exceptionally great. We were not only managed to enjoy the mountain’s alluring beauty but also get the opportunity to witness aboriginal people’s arduous and distinct life style without the mere presence of modern technologies. This was my first ever mountain trip which I enjoyed to the fullest. This tour was the flood gate opener in terms of traveling in mountains. I hiked a lot of mountains in Bangladesh and when I moved into United Kingdom for my higher studies then I started to do rock climbing as well in various part of Europe. All of my traveling inspiration started with this first tour of mine which made me believe that the world is very beautiful, we just need to get out and explore this beauty as much as possible in our short lifetime.
