A night out with the friends sounded ideal, well of course we all knew it wouldn't turn out the way we planned but what the heck, we kept forcing to stay outdoors as if our homes were prison cells or even worse, hell itself. The original plan was to spend the night at the coast of Durban. Which we did go to but ended up very much disappointed to find that we didn't share the same chill vibes. Somebody came with the idea of going to an event. I wasn't so excited about that, first and foremost I wasn't particularly dressed to impress and I was bottom pit broke. We stuck around for a few hours, even made plans to just smoke instead and go our separate ways. As we were walking I met an old friend, apparently he was on his way to the event and offered to pay for my ticket to enter. I was very reluctant at first but gave it up and agreed to go. We went pass a bottle store, requested an Uber and were on our way. We had a blast, most amazing time I had at an event. I met most of my old friends, mutual friends even clients. It was time to head home, we waited for transport outside that place for an hour. I was getting fed up and bothered. My best friend noticed a guy we had previously met on the last event we attended. I didn't recognise him, but she obviously did. She shouted out three different names guessing as she called. She got it right the third try because the guy turned around and asked who called him. She replied and they started talking and reminding each other where they met. He turned to look at me, I was standing next to my friend and he asked if I knew him. I said I hardly remember but I sort of do. He reintroduced himself and asked for my name. After a small chat with the both of us he left to chat with his friends. We stood for another 30 mins, my friends were fed up and were trying to get transport elsewhere. I stood alone waiting for them as I had to watch our belongings. The guy came back to ask why I looked stressed and worried, I explained our situation and I guess that lead to a very long, deep and interesting conversation. We talked longer than I expected. I told him things I usually don't tell strangers, I'm very shy and closed so me doing that surprised me. We exchanged contact details and arranged to meet two days later, which we didn't but didn't give up and arranged to meet the following day. It was a very cold day, I suddenly had a lot to do, I thought I wouldn't make it, time flew by and when I realised it was way too late for me to go something just kept pushing me towards him. I ended up risking being absolutely wet and went ahead with the plan. I got there and met him, he looked different, dressed up and all. I didn't even put much effort into my outfit, in fact no effort at all. We chatted over coffee and found we had a lot in common. I was sure we were going to be good friends. Boy was I wrong. Next time we met we were at an event which we had promised each other to attend, although we both knew we just wanted to see each other. We had a crazy night, a lot went south, almost got into a fight the event was a mess. We finally found peace when two of our friends and us booked ourselves into a hotel. That's where it happened, that is where we both knew that we had something special and we should give it a chance to ignite. That is how I met my soulmate, my first, only and hopefully last boyfriend.
