In July of 2019 my journey into the unknown with my two best friends started in Barcelona, Spain. Passing through 16 cities in one month was not easy, but it was way harder to leave that amazing experience. From staying in a room with 16 messy people, to falling in love with someone I would probably never get to see again, it turned out to be the best 30 days of my life. I could never expect that a simple backpack trip of 1 month through Europe would find me a new family scattered around the world. Netherlands, New Zealand, Australia, USA, Chile and even my own country, Brazil are a few of the new places that my heart now lays within after this experience of creating indescribable connections. Although I’ve met and loved many of my new friends in that trip, I’ll never forget him. The person who would soon become my best friend and later the love of my life. It all started on the 13th day of the trip. Me and my two travel mates had just arrived in Florence, Italy where we were supposed to stay for 3 days. We were quite tired from all the time in buses and overnight we pulled to go out and visit everything in the shortest time as possible. As soon as we checked in the hostel we would be staying, we kept up that routine and head out to meet the city and came back only 8pm to change. As soon as I entered my dorm I saw a group of 4 guys with an familiar australian accent - memories from my exchange program in high school to Queensland back in 2016. After all the introductions and common roommate chats like name’s, where were we from and how long we were staying, he walked in the room. Jaden Hudson, or just Jades he said, which cause all of his friends to made fun of us because my name was the same as his nickname which made me blush hard. I never knew why but after spending six months in the down under land, my heart become a beacon to aussie guys, something I won’t complain over because it lead me to him. The groups immediately hit off and after a few italian nights hanging together, we become this weird mix of brazilians and australians, who were never separated from each other, following our travel itinerary until the end of our trip 15 days later. We were all “mates” as they use to say. Except for me and Jaden, we became one and the same, the type of duo that don’t let go of each other no matter what. And it was, my first love experience. A love that even with the distance that would soon split us apart would not end. A love that started with a hidden kiss during a opera in Verona, continued with a propose on the top of the eiffel tower and would not die from a goodbye at the Madrid airport. A love made of memories. A love that I didn’t expect to find in a random hostel in Florence.
