The year is 2013. I had the opportunity to live in Tulkarm, a city in the north area of West Bank, Palestine. Palestine is a divided country, all around Jerusalem, West Bank and the Gaza Strip you can find many palestinians who had their life affected by the creation of Israel (or, as they say, The Nakba). Of all people I met, the family who most touched my heart was Muawyia's. His family is from Tulkarm, this city which is only 14km far from the cost. Cost which now belongs to Israel according with the UN resolution. When he was a kid (he is now around his 40's or 50's) he used to go to the beach every friday with his father and relatives. He told me some stories that touched my heart on how special where those moments: "it was when I could be with my dad with no worries at all", "I keep these moments on my heart forever". What broke my heart is that now, he can no longer go to the beach with his 4 sons. One day his older son, which was 10 years old in 2013, was playing a game called GTA in videogame, in which the player has a caracter and walks around the city. At some point, the caracter in the game was led do the beach. His son asked him "What is that, papa?" and they had the most touching yet small talk ever "It is the sea", "Can we go there?", "Of course...". Muawyia told me this story with his eyes wet. How could he take his son to the beach if there is a wall between Israel and Palestine now? After hearing all this, I could never ever go to any beach in Israel again. It feels it doesn't belong to me.
